This album is wonderful, trippy, and very refreshing. If you like metal, techno, alternative, progressive, or just want something cool, I suggest you buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad -New To LOT Very Trippy Music!!, October 21, 2011
This review is from: Neonai (Audio CD)
Lately I have been searching for new bands to check out and I ran across LOT. They are pretty Good. Their first album A greater Art is pretty bad in my opinion
Sounds like Shizz..Headstones is good alot of heavy songs on that one. Now this cd is very trippy Psycodelic at points. The best songs are Return of ravens, The Shadowshires,
and Let us go as they do. Most songs are mid paced. Singer is rather good . Musicians are alright nothing fancy that's for sure. I have a couple of their other discs on the way along with
the new release Illwill which sounds pretty heavy from samples. Give them a chance if you like Type O or Paradise Lost ..

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good album by Lake of Tears, January 12, 2011
This review is from: Neonai (Audio CD)
This album is like gothic-rock with some influences from electronica music. It has some hits (especially the second track) and its an album i liked very much from the first time hearing it. I recommended to all of course Lake of Tears fans and to people who like something more soft than heavy metal. Very good work (but its not like A crimson cosmos or Forever Autumn)

4.0 out of 5 stars Something different from LOT, December 27, 2008
This review is from: Neonai (Audio CD)
After buying A Crimson Cosmos, I became an instant fan of Lake Of Tears. They are one of the few bands since the mid 90s that forced me to revise my top ten lists. I love the melancholic mood created by their music and the fantasy/autumn lyrics. None of their albums has ever disappointed. The Neonai is more "electronic/techno" than the previous four albums. The drums sound programmed and a few of the songs have similar beats. But despite that there are still several excellent songs and it is difficult for me to choose favorites. The fact that this band is not huge is a shame, but I feel lucky that I discovered them. I recommend starting with Crimson, or Forever Autumn, both classics!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful...but..., January 19, 2004

This review is from: Neonai (Audio CD)
It was very hard for me to get this album, since in my country, LoT is almost unknown. I was waiting for it, and when I finally got it... I was a bit disappointed. It is fantastic, really! It has everything I love Lake of Tears for. Great lyrics, music that actually has a mellody, Mr Brennare is singing, not growling. Again, LoT invited Ms. Jennie Tabler, she appears in 3 songs, which is a pleasant surprise...
The problem is that seeing how Lake of Tears developed since 1993, I'd say, this is a step back, or, maybe, that it's not one, but two steps forward? This album is a bit too electronic for me, it has more "disco" drums in few songs, the lyrics are not as good as in previous albums. Actually, in my opinion, nothing will ever be as good as "Forever Autumn". Maybe this is why I expected something more. I truly recomend "The Neonai" to everybody, but be warned.
Let's hope that LoT's 6th album (which will be ready this year, or so I've read on official LoT website) will be something better. Even better than "Forever Autumn".
