I've owned every edition of this excellent resource and all have served me very well as a pediatrician covering a newborn nursery. This one does not disappoint. It is perfect for handling those babies when you know that something's just not right.

This text delivers all that it promises and more. An easy read but with just the right amount of detail. Love the quick references to common on-call problems as well as the thorough description of disease entities. It is easy to see why this book is so highly recommended in the field of Neonatology.

This handbook is excellent because it exhaustively covers manangement of neonatal problems; as a peds hospitalist, I find the on-call problems section very helpful as well as the drugs during pregnancy and lactation. Additionally, to have access on line (neonatologybook.com) is an extra perk when I need to travel light. Highly recommended

This is great reference book for neonatology, but in spite of having a thorough index at the back, it is not at all linked to the text and is a worthless word list. And the search facility is not helpful either. Very disappointing!!

Great book. I am a first year peds resident (aka intern) and this book is really helpful already. I will probably reference this book many times during residency and throughout the course of my career.

I really thought I was done with this book when I was done with residency but now that I am in my general pediatrics practice I have found this book to be very useful for quick help in our level 2 nursery. Very good at helping determine that next step of evaluation and treatment.

This book was very useful as an intern on-call alone in the NICU. It helped me develop an intelligent assessment and plan prior to calling my attending when I needed help. I also found it easy to read and reference. (And I usually hate textbooks.)

Gomella has long been a standard reference for anyone, including neonatologists, who work with infants. The book itself is an incredible resource. I would get the hard copy. The ebook I purchased for my iPad is indexed but has no page numbers, and no way to search the book. The only way to access anything is to go to the table of contents and hunt for it. This is a major problem. Shame as this is a powerful tool, and having a good ebook would make it simply extraordinary!
UPDATE (7/29/10): Amazon fixed the Kindle reader I use on my iPad, and I can now search the book easily. This has made this excellent book useful once again! Thanks, Amazon!

This is an excellent resource! It gives the quick and dirty on a variety of subjects. Nice to be able to look at when you don't have a lot of time! Excellent for NNPs and anyone else who works in the NICU! It arrives in mint condition when you order it from Amazon!
