This is your standard dumbbell: Easy to grip, although very large hands might find the grip length a bit snug (about 3.5 inches on the 12-lb dumbbell). The grip seems a bit thicker than a lot of other dumbbells, too, which make it comfortable to hold. Overall, this dumbbell is very compact, solid and the neoprene covering reduces slip. They're sold separately - a nice option but be sure to order two if you're looking for a pair.
