I've used Aveeno, Carmex, Chapstick, Burts Bees, Softlips and Blistex lip care products and none of them seem to help cure my dry, chapped and peeling lip problems. The Neosporin Lip Treatment is pretty expensive compared to other brands but it makes my dry and peeling lips disappear...and quickly too! Using this product for just one day fixed my lip problems and it's worth the price differential to avoid painful, unattractive dry lips. This product does have a scent and I have heard some people do not like it, but I don't mind it... I don't think it smells bad or medicinal... besides I don't notice it after I have the product on for a minute or two.
Purchasing in bulk from Amazon is much cheaper than the $5 I spent to purchase this at a drugstore! Six tubes is a lot though because this seems to last a very long time... you could always split the order with a chapped friend :)

I bought this product when it was $6 for 6 tubes and now the price is more than double. I could kick myself because I really love it. I enjoy the menthol feeling on my lips and was worried this would just be a vaseline feeling. It really comes out nice and has a slight tingly feeling on the lips. It really is nice. Hope it goes on the cheap again.

I've tried various lip balms and the clear gel works best for me, especially in this form factor. But I'm told there is no "neosporin" related ingredients in this product. Still, I'm very happy with this product.

As for the price, if you compare Amazon's price with other sites such as drugstore.com or your local grocery store, you'll find Amazon's price is a LOT cheaper, at least half off if not more.

This is the best treatment(actually preventative) for cold sores-bar none!
I have used prescription lip treatments that cost far more and do not work
nearly as well. When you first feel the tingling of a beginning cold sore-
immediately begin applying and it will prevent the cold sore. I do not
understand why I cannot find this in any stores anymore.

This by far is the best product I have ever used. I used to be a frequent cold sore suffer, due to this product I rarely ever get a cold sore but when I do they are very short lived because this product is amazing. Why did they have to discontinue it? Is there any way to get them to rethink their decision? I would pay a higher price if they just kept it around. I ordered 12 tubes and I am about out and sad to have learned I cannot get any more. I have no idea what to do now.......

This the only product that will heal my lips after a cold sore, and now it is imposable to find.:( If you feel the same as me contact the manufacturer. Maybe they will bring it back if enough people are show interest.

Well I just found out that the people who make it discontinued it.
I think that the company is crazy to take it off the market, when it works
for so many people. This new stuff they are now trying to sell is crap.
It makes the cold sores worse, I know I will not buy the new stuff, I throw
away the one tube I purchased. A waste of money.

I take medication to treat psoriasis that actually dries out my lips, so I need to use some sort of lip balm on a daily basis. While the "sticks" are easier and more convenient to use, they don't do a very good job of healing.
Well, I had a crack on my upper lip that simply would not heal for at least a month. I saw advertising for Neosporin Lip Treatment and also read good things about it. I figured that Neosporin is the best thing for cuts, so their lip treatment was certainly worth a try.
I'm happy to say that it helped heal that cut in a matter of days, and it has since kept my lips more moisturized. And unlike the "sticks", there is no waxy residue. Within minutes it absorbs into your lips much like skin cream into skin.
Highly recommended for moderate to severe chapped lips.

I used this product once when I had a cold sore. I've used everything they make for cold sores, and I've never had anything that relieved that itchy, dry feeling or made it feel like the skin was healing like this stuff did. It had a slightly lemony scent/taste to it, but it was not strong, and it was not irritating at all.
I've gone to all the drug stores in my area and haven't been able to find it again.

If you can find it, get it. It's fantastic.
