This review is from: Nephi's Isaiah (Paperback)
This work represents again, Denver's abiding love and respect for the Lord. Through scriptural quotations and prophet's words he reminds us to remember the counsel and warnings of ancient day prophets who foretold the Latter Days in which we now live. Take advantage of Denver's years of study of the scriptures, knowledge, and cross references to better understand the wisdom and revelations of the Book of Mormon Prophet Nephi and the Bible Prophet Isaiah.
I have great respect for Denver for writing his insights, research, knowledge of, and understanding of the workings and mysteries of God in his two published books, "Nephi's Isaiah" and "Conversing with the Lord through the Veil." His writings are inspired teaching texts with candid words of interpretations that dovetail ancient and modern prophet's counsel. The warnings and counsel given here are a reality we must not be too busy to learn of, understand, heed, re-teach in our homes, and share with others. "Nephi was a brilliant Prophet Writer" and Denver helps us to see and understand his messages so we may walk in a straighter path towards exaltation. Thank you again Denver for your efforts to teach what our Father would have us learn through your writings.

Tough love,
By T (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nephi's Isaiah (Paperback)
I found it helpful while reading this book to keep a sense of humor, perspective, and willingness as I read. Some of the messages are blunt, direct, and can be painful. Painful because the reader will most likely recognize in themselves much of what Nephi and Isaiah encourage us to leave behind as we journey through life and towards God. If read in that light I believe the whole book is encouraging and a wonderful companion to the first book. I also believe the messages, warnings and lessons from all of the authors are entirely motivated by deep love, and an effort to help the reader recognize some important scriptural messages. For me it sparked a deeper love and appreciation for God and his mercy. With that came more compassion towards my fellow man and the shortcomings of life.

This book made alot of sense to me. It was simple to understand with great references to look back on. Isaiah has always been difficult for my wife and I but after reading this book, it now makes sense to us. Totally Awesome. Thanks to the auther for thinking of us who have struggled with Isaiah. God Bless. Russ ann Monica

Peculiar Precepts,
By Spradling (Kansas City, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nephi's Isaiah (Paperback)
The Mrs. and I have taken to reading this book as a couple and the first thing that we have noticed is that the author has a unique perspective of Isaiah and its relationship to the institutionalization of the word. That is to say the two aren't congruent and it would be safe to say we need to heed the words of Isaiah and turn ourselves back to the people that the Book of Mormon prefers us to be. It's an exciting book that needs to be read twice. Leadership needs to read this.

thunder in ink,
This review is from: Nephi's Isaiah (Paperback)
Actually I havent read nephis Isaiah, but I have read Isaiah in the book of mormon! And this title facinates me, I am dying to get a copy!Since Iam an Isaiah freak Iam writing a review before Ive read it! Why would Nephi Include Isaiah in the B of M. there can Only be one reason! It pertains to these last days! Its for our times! The commentaries are in the B. of M. so that explains Isaiah itself to our day and times! Christ commanded us to search these (Old Testament Prophets)out!, especially Isaiah! How many commentaries are out there, (Ludlow,Oswalt, Young,Alexander,Ridges,Skousen,) and on and on!Christ loves poetry, parables, dreams, revelation! This is the language of the Lord!Plainess but also shadows and obscureness!Spirit! But Isaiah comes as close as to the spirit in words that you can get to.It reveals who the Lord is, and his character! The Lord is a wonder!his words are a Wonder, thats why we have to read Isaiah and all honest commentaries on Isaiah, no matter, no how!we must do as the Lord asks! We must search!

Sorry, but disturbing,
By
This review is from: Nephi's Isaiah (Paperback)
I'm not trying to be confrontational, but I find things being said in the reviews of this book (and his other books) very disturbing! Things like "Thank you again Denver for your efforts to teach what our Father would have us learn through your writings." and "leadership needs to read this" and "I wish the brethren would speak like this". I don't know Mr. Snuffers motives (he may mean well), but it is clearly not the order of how God reveals His truths to His children. The Lord will always follow the pattern of revealing His words through His prophets. Mr Snuffer has no authority to preach to me or anyone else outside his area of stewardship. The Lord will not give vital information to some obscure person and then leave it up to us to go looking for it. He clearly and plainly speaks through the channels He has established. President Joseph Fielding Smith said "when revelation comes for the guidance of this people, you may be sure that it will not be presented in some mysterious manner contrary to the order of the Church. It will go forth in such form that the people will understand that it comes from those who are in authority......It will not spring up in some distant part of the Church and be in the hands of some obscure individual without authority." Remember that satan's deceptions can imitate "revelation" and we are promised that the Prophet and the governing body of the Church will never lead us astray. The same promise can't be made for "Joe Seminary Teacher" and his book or experiences.
