It's a great book and I use it in my class to explore the shadings of life in those years--shadings obscured by the media reviews who would make us believe that Mussolini's fascist state was OK UNTIL they started stepping on the toes of JEWS.But by 1935-36, Italy had used poison gas against Africans, had used genocide, and Italian Jewish fascists just cheered! This book is a teaching tool far more useful than the PC reviews would indicate. |
