We've owned this toy for about 8 months and I have to say I'm impressed with it's durability. My 8-year-old son still enjoys playing with it. However, we are down to one arrow left (it is true, the fins do tear off). I could not find replacement arrows online; however a quick call to Hasbro (1-800-255-5516) and I was able to buy six replacement arrows [...]

This is a rereleased gun as said before from the hyper sight line of nerf guns. The gun shoots arrows and once the delcate arrows break you buy more but since it is a toys rus exlusive product you cannot.But you can do this to still shoot darts with by: first sawing 1/2 inch of the tip of the barrel the you will see a air restrictor that has three prongs and a larger stick. grasp it with a needle nose pliar and yank it out. now you can shoot micro darts that you can buy at toysrus.

after taking the gun out of the box, i realized that the bow attachments (orange and black pieces) werent needed for the gun to work. my bow came with 6 arrows unlike many people who bought it at toy r us and only have 3. i bought mine as a target exclusive.


ive heard many complaints of broken arrows and not enough arrows.

FOR BROKEN ARROWS (ripped fins)

just take either super glue (what i used) or hot glue and put them back on. this will only take a few minutes.


FOR MORE ARROWS

nerf claims that they dont sell arrows and are basically impossible to purchase. i did some searching on the hasbro site and found how you can purchase more. you can go to the hasbro site, go to customer service, and on the left, it will say "replacement parts". find the nerf order form, print it out, and mail for more arrows. (i havent ordered more arrows so i dont know if theyre the same. ive heard and read that arrows are usable with all guns that use arrows.) heres the site ----> http://www.hasbro.com/default.cfm?page=cs_parts

the extra arrows can only be ordered through mail.

IF YOU DONT WANT TO USE ARROWS ANYMORE

you can use regular micro darts by simple cutting the front orange part with a hacksaw. they you can open the gun, and take the air restrictor (clear part with a small spring) out and close the gun back up. WARNING, by taking out the air restrictor, the gun will be more powerful, nearly shooting darts 50 feet.... also the gun will still use the arrows after this modification.

this nerf gun is probably one of the best and is pretty cheap.

I bought this for my son's birthday and he and his younger brother like it a lot. However in less than 24 hours one of the arrows got a split in it after very careful use. The arrow is not able to be used now so we only have two. I called Hasbro and was told that they do NOT make replacement arrows for this toy because it is a Toys R Us exclusive.

The toy is great but it is fairly useless if you really can't get replacement arrows...so I give it 1 start overall. They couldn't tell me if any of their other arrows worked with it either. Unless you can find a source for replacement arrows (it only comes with 3) I'd suggest that you spend money on something else and beware of ToysRUs exclusive toys!

Although the Big Bad Bow (known in the Nerf Internet Community [N.I.C.] as the BBB or 3B) is a re-release of the discontinued original, nothing has changed. The BBB is still a decent high powered single shot spring blaster. Though not as famed or as powerful as the also discontinued Crossbow, the BBB makes a suitable replacement. The gun is quite useless for someone who is not prepared to mod it properly, with only six foam arrows, which should never be used in a serious war, and a meager range of 40 feet, the stock BBB is a bit of a joke. The actual bow parts don't really do anything, they are just for show, and add nothing to the gun.

When properly modded, however, the BBB is an excellent weapon. Firstly, the barrel must be replaced. With a good brass, crayola, or PETG barrel replacement, the gun can often fire mini stefan darts 90-100 feet. It's not a bad idea to re-lube the gun as well. A simple restrictor removal can also benefit the gun's range. There are even more advanced mods that can clip-mod the gun to make it have a Rate of Fire similar to that of the new N-Strike Longshot.

Overall, the gun is a good choice for a modder or someone just looking for some quick fun. But don't buy this gun if you are planning to participate in a nerf war and are not prepared to mod it.

Ok, this gun is not bad! The arrows may be quite terrible. All you do its buy mega darts, they fit into the end of the barrel and go farther. Also, To get some serious sniper range with this gun, You need to pull it open and put a new spring in it and remove the airs restictors. Then it gets great range. Trust me! and Dont buy it here, go to target its 20 bucks there

I got this as a christmas gift and participated in some of our neiborhood battles. It is quite powerful and fast for a nerf gun. Also, the scope is a nice touch. The only bad things are the arrows that it comes with. They would tear easily and break. Overall, this is a good nerf gun to beginners and pros alike.

My son and daughter have loved this toy but after 6 months I came back to get replacement arrows and found out they do have them - What??? What good is a toy that you can not use because you can not get more arrows? I guess that fact that I am so frustrated is that my kids really love the toy!

Got 2 for my sons for Christmas (ages 6 and 10). They are having a great time with them - watch for ambushes! Reminds me of the way we played when we were kids - running around, climbing trees for a better shot, hiding behind bushes :-)

My son loves this toy, but it a little hard on the arrows. After a long search and several phone calls, we found them: Call Hasbro toys at 800-327-8264 (a different # than the general contact # on their web site). Replacement arrows were $1 each, including shipping! Pretty easy!
