The darts shoot pretty far, compared to the other nerf guns.

And this gun is very easy to load with an open front loader - this makes it great for quickly reloading to get back into the game.

Comes with Safety glasses, shots great but not hard enough to hurt, very fun for kids and adults.

The Hyperfire is comparable to the Nerf Maverick in terms of range and accuracy. It is even easier to cock, and the positioning of the handle lets you do so rapidly--you can get a good rate of fire. Because there is nothing in front of the darts, you will never have to worry about it jamming. Being a revolver, you can reload it even while it is cocked and ready to fire, so it is useful in close quarters when you know someone might rush at you. Overall, it can be used in most situations and will not let you down.
There are two (small problems). One, the barrels don't really accept all types of Nerf darts. Tagger, suction, and glow-in-the dart rounds will always work, but for some reason the barrels will sometimes push out the sonic and streamline darts. The second problem is merely that when facing the gun downward, the darts sometimes fall out (especially if you move it too fast).
Overall, an excellent buy, and you will probably never encounter its two minor flaws.

This nerf gun was bought for me as a Christmas gift and I thought it was great. It has a good amount of darts so that you can shoot without having to collect to often, but enough so that you don't have to do very much picking up like you do with the Raider. Another cool thing about the hyperfire is that its semi-automatic so you don't have to keep putting in darts. It also does not come with a ammo belt or an ammo clip which is a good thing since you don't have to keep refilling them up. It has great durability and firepower. Since our house has a carpet on which the darts stick onto, the dart tag darts aren't very good in our house because the velcro comes off. Other than that, everything else about this gun is great. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing with nerf.

I bought these as a Christmas gift for my office co-workers, who already have a nice in-office arsenal. These shoot farther than the nerf longstrike, the gun styled after a sniper rifle. This may have some attribution to the heavier-tipped velcro darts, but I make no claims about that - only that these shoot very far for a gun of this form factor. The velcro seems to stick great to surfaces without causing any damage. We tested on a sweater, a flannel shirt, and a microfiber sofa - and most of those were intentional shots. These darts are nerf, so they do not hurt when they hit you. And for parents or HR departments worried about soft tissue injury, this gun comes with a pair of goofy orange goggles that look hilarious on adults, and would do well to protect a kid from being shot in the eye. The construction is solid. The cocking mechanism is easy to pull but firm enough where it doesn't feel as though it will break. And this gun is very easy to load with an open front loader - this makes it great for quickly reloading to get back into the game.

The price point on this is currently $10.99 on sale, but I would have no problems paying the list price of $16.99. I purchased my gun at a local store due to seeing them there and making an impulse buy, but I felt this toy is nice enough to warrant a review on amazon, where I do most of my purchases.

I got this gun today and figured it would end up a dud,as some other guns I have had have turned out to be. But it wasn't. I let my brother shoot it first. Oddly,he chose to shoot it at me. He stood way across the room and shot. I was all relaxed expecting it to fall way short. But it ended up hitting me in the arm. I was speechless. That gun had shot farther than most of the guns I have. Plus, the dart tag darts are normally duds.

good points:
-accuracy: This gun is pretty accurate. Which is a good thing for a sniper.
-rate of fire: This gun shoots fairly fast, even for having the pump handle on the top of the gun. I got in unloaded in about 15 seconds.
-range: This gun easily will out-shoot a Recon CS-6. Which is pretty good. The gun shot at least 20-30 feet.
-Jamming: I've used the gun in multiple battles already, and it hasn't jammed once. Normally new guns jam at least once in the first battle.

bad points:
-capacity: For the type of gun like this, I want it to have more capacity. Instead of holding ten darts,it should hold at least 15.

Overall I love the gun. So far. It's the first day I've had it. And I hope it doesn't start acting strange. This is my new favorite Nerf gun.

I was initially surprised at how much larger and heavier this dart blaster was than I expected. It is definitely a higher quality than I expected for such a toy. It shoots ten darts in a row, and works very well. You do have to make sure the darts are locked into place, or they will fall out if you point it downwards. We purchased it as a white elephant gift for my husband's office, and all the "big boys" there thought it was awesome.

Bought these for my nephews....very powerful, they FLYYYY across the room in a straight shot. They ahve velcro tips so they can stick to certain things. I think it holds 10 darts at a time. The uncles took them from the kids and had their own shoot out contest in the klitchen at the birthday party....so they are not only great for kids but adults (or men who want to be boys again) too.
Just be careful of eyeballs because the thing is so powerful, but this specific gun does come with eye protection....
