the nerf cs 6 recon gun is an excellent addition to the nerf arsenal.the gun, which comes with 6 stream lined darts a clip and 4 interchangable part is:good becasue: 1-good quality 2- doesent jam often(unless you dont know what youre doing......) 3-good price-(i got mine on amazon for 12$-for some reason the prices of all nerf products went up x2.......) 4-very easy for modding(look up on youtube) 5-has GREAT range(35+ ffet after modding...) 6-very realistic looking and very big! cons: 1-led light didnt work at first-took it apart and put it back and it was fine. 2-this gun has a clip holder that lets the clip fall after reloading-and you must push the tabs on the side constantly to prevent that. 3-not enough darts-if you buy this gun get more darts and another clip. 4-reloading the gun is annoying becasue you have to push it till the end-and then push a bit harder for the last 1/2 inch. all in all this gun is great for the price(12$), good quality and lots of fun!

The good:1 the gun has parts that can come on and of so you can customize the gun. 2 good for sniping people with out them knowing where you are. 3 the scope is great The bad 1 some times i put the darts in the clip the wrong so it jams 2 only shots 15 feet 3 it does not come with enough darts 4 the back is not so stable 5 you can only use one kind of darts Solutions 1 there is a arrow on the clip that points witch way the darts go. use a marker to draw over it. (it is the same color as the clip so run your finger across the clip until you find it.) 2 modify it (see youtube) 3 get more darts! tips 1 draw or spray paint on it to make it look cooler 2 modify it 3 get more clips 4 if you have a younger brother don't leave it out! I got this item in October 2009 and nothing has broken. if you want a gun that is good for sniping get this if you want a gun that is more for a open environment get the raider cs-35

My son received this as a birthday gift, and absolutely loves it. It was his first working gun toy, and he really enjoys it. The laser "sight" that shines a beam on the target is surprisingly accurate at close range, and it doesn't take long to figure out how much higher to aim to achieve decent accuracy at longer distances. The gun also seems durable, although the darts themselves are NOT, thus my lower rating for durability. I'm here at Amazon buying replacement darts, and he received this toy only 2 days ago.The main reason the darts are getting damaged is the tendency this gun has to jam. Chalk it up to a child's impatience if you wish, but this is something the manufacturer should fix for future versions of this gun. Another minor quibble I have - and this may be one of the reasons for the constant jamming - is that the clip that holds the darts doesn't hold them like it should. I first thought my son was just doing it wrong, but only about half the time can I get 6 darts to stay put in the clip long enough for me to fully insert it into the gun. It's quite frustrating for an adult, and my son has even less patience with it. He's now started inserting only 3 darts at a time into the clip, which seems to work better, but then of course he's stuck reloading more often. All in all, it was a great gift that someone gave him - but I wouldn't buy it myself given the choice.

This is what my 10 year old son said: It is so fun! It has good accuracy and good distance. It's cool that you can change around the parts. It jams about half of the time, so it's a little frustrating. However, it's still lots of fun. It is good for aiming and target practice and for hitting stuff exactly. But it's not good for nerf fighting because it jams a lot, like I said earlier. So, you should get it if you want it for target practice and not for all out nerf fights with someone else.

The recon cs6 is a very accurate nerf gun. It is very good at secretly shoting. I am nine years old and I love this gun. I like that no matter what positition you're in,you are just as accurate!

OKay i love nerf guns i know own 15 from pistols to rocket launchers. the recon is a okay gun but straight out of the box it gets 20-22 feet angled. this is good for children 5-8 if you don't mod it. if you do mod it it is great for kids 8-14. all you have to do is visit nerfhaven.com there some forums and article will teach you how to do the basic air restrictor mod. i have done the ar mod and now my recon hits 45ft flat with barrel and 65 without barrel. although not as successful as the iconic nerf LONGSHOT CS-6 it is a okay nerf gun this gun can be modded to look like many different assault rifles used in the battlefield today.Straight out of the box it does resemble a modified m4 rifle gone spec ops mode. over all not worth buying unless you mod it unless for younger children.

These guns are fun but there is something you have to be aware of if you want to avoid a very serious jam. There is really nothing to prevent the cartridge or magazine from being inserted upside down (i.e. with the darts facing the wrong way). It is very easy for a younger child to make this mistake, but anyone could the same thing if they were not careful. Once one of these backwards-facing darts is loaded it will cause a jam that is extremely difficult to free. My son's two uncles both independently gave him one of these guns for Christmas (two different models). Both of the guns have been jammed and in both cases it was due to the cartridge being inserted backwards. The ease with which this can happen is a design error in my opinion. In one case an uncle was able to free a jam by shredding a dart. In another case I had to entirely disassemble a gun to free the jam. (Although I am happy to report that the gun was well-built enough to be as good as new after re-assembly, I don't recommend this process to anyone as it was extremely complex and time consuming and the gun is not really meant to be disassembled.)

This gun makes good use of clip technology and also takes longshot cs-6 clips. Each clip takes 6 ammo (hence Recon cs-'6') and is easily interchangible. It shoots harder but less accurately than the Maverick and you need to slide the cocking lever back THEN forth before it is ready to fire. It has a convenient 'Jammed dart acces openeing' where you can access the jammed darts than so many reveiwers have reported. Be sure that when you load your clips into your gun that your clip is facing the right direction. If you don't, your darts will jam even if They are faced in the right direction. In my mind, still, there's no better gun to protect you from the inevitable zombie invasion.

This is actually a kids review, but I'm using my mom's account because I don't have one. Anyway, I got this for Christmas, so i don't know about the shipping, but overall its a good gun. I need a refill, because the darts jam and get messed up. The range and power are good. It's awesome how you can interchange the parts, but the pistol jams a lot, and the rifle is, in my opinion, cooler, more powerful and just better than all the other combinations. If it weren't for the jams, it would be 5 star. Good gun.

I have had this gun for over a year and it still works realy well. It might be the best nerf gun I've ever played with and here are my thoughts on comparing it to the nerf Longshot.I like this Nerf gun better then the nerf Longshot partly because it's lighter and it also has an easier cock systom. It shoots just about as far as the Longshot and I think it shoots much better at close range. Over all, I think that with the money you're paying for the Recon it is a better deal then the Longshot |
