This is truly a innovative and entertaining toy. I bought two for Christmas, 1 for my son and 1 for Santa. I am sure glad that I bought 2 as my son has been wanting one of these for months. My son assembled his with the 10 Batteries (6-"D" cells and 4-"AA") and it worked great. They take about 50 to 100 rounds through the gun before it works the best. The second gun was assembled by myself and it shot maybe 15 to 20 rounds and just stopped working. The feed mechanism just won't turn and the gun is totally DEAD. This is not what I would expect from a $120 toy.

I am so glad I bought 2, at least one of them worked so my Son was not totally bummed out on Christmas!

I have tried to call Nerf support and guess what? Busy signals every day every time. Emails have been sent and not replied to.

Be careful with this product around young kids as the foam bullets hurt when they hit your exposed skin.

I had purchased the Nerf Vulcan online being that every single store I went to was sold out. When I finally assembled it and got it ready to fire I was really excited. I pull the trigger and... the thing jammed due to a back up of five darts in the barrel. So I took out the jam and fired it again. That's when I realized, this gun does not fire over 25 feet nor does it fire 3 darts per second; even though the ad campaign says it does.

But it's not all negative, like the gun can be heavily modified (which I'll explain in a moment) and it's a blast to shoot. Now about the modifications. The box warns against this but that's things like modifying the voltage and darts. I modified my Vulcan with a paint job (it's against the law to paint over the red/orange tip at the front of the gun. So don't), ammo counter ([...] I think), and longer ammo belt. Now it's a dart guzzling machine gun with an awesome paint job and ammo counter. Either way it's a pretty cool blaster.

Although my son really wanted this and knew it was a big gun, he didn't understand how big until he got it. Didn't matter much...the gun jammed and became unusable on the 4th or 5th time. Hasbro/Nerf is now involved to exchange, but my son has been without his number 1 most-wanted Christmas gift since Christmas afternoon.
