5.0 out of 5 stars Great for greek 'frappe'
This is must for greek 'frappe' drinkers. Different than the regular instant Nescafe found in grocery stores. Add one heaping tspn of this instant coffee, two tspns. sugar, about two ounces water, and shake like a mad person in a shaker. Pour over tall glass of ice, add more water to the remnants in your shaker and pour the rest in your glass. You are now good to go...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to stomach but it has its uses
When I lived in Greece in the Seventies, I insisted on drinking what the old people drank, namely Turkish coffee ("emeis to leme elleniko" - "we call it Greek" said a blurb on the package). However, Greek youth frequently spurned such stuff and drank instead the "frappes" made from the product you see here. To each their own. However, I've found a different use for it...

The greek version of this product is the only way to go for true Greek frappe.

This is by far my favorite coffee, but only cause I am used to it and grew up with it. You cannot find it easily in US (at least not in CA). Add some ice and enjoy!

I fell in love with this amazing product while in the Greek Isles recently. I was heart broken to leave for many reasons, one being this wonderful coffee several times each day. After arriving home a friend I had spoken with about it suggested I look on [...] and I knew immediately it would be there. It took some looking but I bought two boxes and will order again when I get close to running out. Delicious product! Thanks...

5.0 out of 5 stars Misleading product description, June 25, 2011
This review is from: Nescafe (Misc.)
I'm from Greece and there's no such thing as "instant greek coffee". There seems to be a confusion among reviewers between "frappe" and "greek aka turkish coffee", we are talking about two completely different kinds of coffee. To make frappe, which is cold coffee, you can use ANY KIND of instant coffee, add cold water, milk (if you want), and ice cubes, shake and serve in a tall glass. To make traditional greek aka turkish coffee (the one served in a small cup like espresso) you need a DIFFERENT TYPE OF COFFEE (eg Loumidis papagalos greek coffee). This kind of coffee is made by adding coffee, sugar (if you want) and water in a tiny boiling pan (called ibrik) and slowly bring it to a boil until the coffee rises. Nescafe classico is a very nice coffee, but it's totally different than the traditional greek/turkish coffee. It can only be used for cold frappe or hot instant, NOT traditional greek coffee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Would Have Thought an Instant Could Be Great, September 8, 2007
This review is from: Nescafe (Misc.)
I love Greek and Turkish Coffee. The problem is that I do not love looking for my Ybrki and standing over the stove waiting while it boils-up twice. One slightly rounded teaspoon of this stuff in a demi-tasse or two if you prefer a standard size coffee cup, sugar to taste, fill with boiling water and voila - really authentic tasting Greek, or if you prefer Turkish, Coffee. Even a hint of "Crema" on the top of the brew. There are no Directions on the can in English so you may have to make adjustments to your liking. The receipes above work fine. You can also put the instant in a cocktail shaker with the same proportions of instant coffee, sugar and water, shake vigorously and pour out a frothy coffee shake over ice. Lagniappe: For calory watchers, sugar substitutes work as well as real sugar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greek Instant Coffee That You Can't Get (easily) in US Grocery Stores!, October 30, 2008

I really enjoyed the Nescafe that we got in the supermarket this summer on our trip to Greece. Unfortunately, the "Classico" (note the "o" at the end) in US stores doesn't taste anything like this (yuk!). Having run out of my small supply I brought back on the plane, I searched the web for Nescafe Classic (Freek style) and found this from two sellers online. I've used Parthenon Foods for most of my orders and while delivery is expensive (~$10 per shipment), shipping does not seem to go up when you purchase more stuff (e.g., 3 cans of coffee instead of 1). So, I just buy in bulk.

Also really enjoyed the Eurocrem (a hazelnut/vanilla based spread) that is used on crepes in some shops in Greece and Yugoslavia.

This product is very difficult to get in the US so we were very excited to find it on AMAZON. He makes his "Iced Greek Coffee" every morning. A bit strong for my taste but he loves it and reminds him of the village he grew up in Greece.
