I love a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato but cannot justify plunking down cold hard cash for one on a regular basis, so I have often sought out new instant drink coffee products when they appear to see if I could find one that replicates the taste.

This product comes pretty close...it even froths a bit at the top...it isn't the same as the foam in a Macchiato, but it works okay. If one had a little bit of whipping cream and some caramel to drizzle across this in a cup...I think you could really hit the imitation out of the park.

I don't trust myself enough to actually have caramel around the house...so I have not tested it that way.

Other fun points:

You mix this in a 10 ounce mug instead of a smaller coffee cup which I like. I prefer to drink coffee beverages out of a hearty mug and many of these single serves are based on a restaurant style size coffee cup which leads to weak mugs. This is perfect in my standard promotional style mug.

An extra perk is that this is a 100 calorie beverage packet which makes it far less damaging to your daily caloric bank than the "real thing."

This is great. i prefer the Starbucks packets but they cost too much so I switched to these. They taste great but if you're looking for more coffee flavor, you'll have to stir in a scant spoon of instant. I agree with another reviewer about it tasting like hot chocolate, so much so, that instead of adding instant coffee to it, my natural inclination is to add a spoon of baking cocoa. It tones the sweet down and tastes delectable.

I'm getting irritated that in my area, it's becoming more and more scarce. The mocha version seems to stay on the shelves while the Caramel is hard to keep on them. The mocha tastes good too but I prefer the Caramel and sport a sad face everytime I have to purchase the mocha as a substitute.

Be sure to buy this from your local drugstore or grocery, where it's much cheaper. I pay $3 per box on average but have paid as high as $4 something. I REFUSE to pay any more because that would just defeat the purpose of not splurging for the real thing. I guess when you consider there are 8 packets in the box, the $6 is still a bargain but i just can't justify paying that when I know it's half that at my local store.

I got a free sample of the Nescafe Memento Caramel Latte through their Facebook page a while ago, and I finally decided to give it a shot this morning.

I love caramel lattes, but it takes some time to make them for real at home and buying them at the coffee shop can get pricey, so I'm always on the lookout of a decent instant mix. We have a Keurig Brewer at work and I used that for my hot water when making this (emptied packet into my mug and hit brew without putting in a K-cup). I didn't pay attention to the brew size and ended up making this with 10 oz of water instead of the recommended 8 oz, so my latte was watered down a bit, but it still had a good flavor and was foamy at the top. The description of this product says "Foam is so thick that a stir stick can stand on its own in the cup!". While my drink did get foamy, I can't imagine it being that thick and foamy even if I had brewed it with the correct amount of water, but even for my watered down version it had a good amount of foam, so if made correctly it might be somewhat closer to that description, but I don't think it would get all the way there. This seemed to have less caramel flavor than what I'd get at my local coffee shop. Obviously a little bit of that is my fault for adding too much water, but it seemed like even if it was made with the correct amount the caramel to coffee flavor would have been a little weaker than a typical caramel latte. The caramel flavor is definitely there, it just may not be as strong as what you're used to if you usually drink coffee shop lattes.

Overall I'd say this is one of the best instant coffee drinks I've tried, but it is instant so you won't get the full coffee shop quality and flavor.

Don't ask me how, but the last time I tried one packet, it was when I was having a migraine, and towards the end of the pain. It seemed to help my head heal faster, so I thought I would buy more than just a sample in case it helped me again. So today a pain in my head was tryin to come through (being a chronic head pain migrainer), and it seemed to sip on this caramel latte, helped to soothe my head some. The other flavor did not do the same, is why I ordered caramel. MAYBE my system adjusts to caramel caffine, who knows, but I'm not complaining lol

Would recommend for others to try, and it also taste delicious.

Nestlé has made a good instant Caramel Latte to start the morning. This instant hot beverage is enjoyable. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that it is just a bit weak and to spruce it up I add just a bit more sugar. It says don't add boiling water, but I do to enjoy it better. Maxwell House's international coffee French Vanilla Caramel Latte is a bit more stronger and better than this one. But overall this is a good instant coffee beverage.
