A high pressure pump (19 bars) extracts all the aromas and develops a smooth crema in the cup. A thermobloc which heats water to 187°and 196° during extraction and empties the remaining water after each use so that the water is fresh for each preparation. A simple system which perforates the capsule and soaks all the ground coffee to optimally filter the coffee. A functional handle system, which allows for easy coffee preparation. Hey Guys. Stop here and do not look any further. This is the ultimate machine to have a nice shot of espresso. Nespresso have by now 16 different capsules. Some strong like Rostretto and some mild like Coci. So compact and easy to use and easy to clean. The crema is fantastic. You can buy $12 Aerolatte if you like Cappuccino. Avoid any other frothing machines as the Aerolatte is better and cheaper. The Francis X8 costs twice the price unless you get it on promo from Illy. I like the C100 much better, besides the Nespresso capsules are cheaper than Illy.

I purchased my C100 back in April of 2010 and use it almost everyday. The espresso is just as good or better than that of Starbucks. My came with the AEROCCINO machine which make the froth for cappuccinos. the froth is the thickest I have ever seen.
I like most of the Grand Crus capsules ( which there are 16 and three of which are decaffeinated) with the exception of Cappuccino which, in my mind, would be what dish water would taste like; and the HIC Stackable Porcelain Cappuccino Cup & Saucer Set, 9pc I purchased here on Amazon really complements the machine and my kitchen. If you use the button on the right of the C100 which is for the Lungo's, which there are three and another one is decaf; it just fills the above cup and saucer with room for creme. I developed an issue with my machine in October of the same year and the Nespresso company sent another with a call tag for my machine so I wasn't out and postage. Just for your information, the replacement was a refurb. Don't let my experience with the issues of my first machine diswade you. I seem to be hard on things. Like the Thane Deluxe Flavorwave Oven and my Kurig coffee machine both of which had to be replaced. I went with the Nuwave oven instead of getting another Thane oven.

Not a coffee drinker myself but gave it as a gift to someone that loves it and raves about it and uses it daily
