It makes delicious coffee.

Imagine my surprise when I recently walked into a "Sur La Table" store and was offered one espresso from the Nespresso Pixie and ... AH!
Luigi Semenzato
Cheaper than any coffee shop, and it's an espresso far superior to, say, Starbucks, Coffee Bean, or Caribou.

This review will hit upon several issues, especially as they relate to other reviews here: size, heat and speed, efficiency, and satisfaction.

Some of the reviews on this page made me nervous about both the Citiz and the Pixie. I have been using and loving my Nespresso Esenza for 3.5 years, and it has never had a problem--it doesn't leak, it makes perfectly hot espressos, the crema on the espresso is excellent, it has a nice, simple design, and its footprint is perfect for my apartment countertop. A flawless machine in every way. Some of the reviews here for the Pixie and the Citiz worried me that Nespresso had dropped the ball and let their quality slip. This is not at all the case.

My Pixie is a wonderful addition to my small, private office. The water-cooler station in my faculty lounge has a Keurig, and I hate it. The Keurig functions just fine, but the taste (no matter what "k-cup") is horrible, and I really prefer espresso anyway. I was going back and forth between the Pixie and the Citiz, but went with the Pixie for two main reasons: the size, first off; secondly, I visited a Nespresso boutique and they explained to me that the Pixie is the hottest and fastest, as well as the most energy effcient of their machines.

As to the size, it's perfect for sitting on my desk (and L-shape desk). I have plenty of room for the machine, some espresso cups, and all my other stuff, and plenty of workspace left over. The other thing I liked about the size, in contrast to some of the other reviews here, was that I liked the smaller water tank. Since I'm the only one drinking from this machine, I prefer to change the water more frequently because it keeps it fresher. Besides, the 24oz.

I have purchased this specific one the Pixie of the nespresso lines of products because it was small, low priced and the newest of the nespresso family expresso machine line. My parents have a nespresso machine and I was really impressed by the expresso coffee it was making, european standards!
However, after I receive the first machine from amazon, it leaked water all over the compter. I returned it to amazon for a replacement and guess what? the replacement unit had the same problem. No water would come out from the pipe only from underneath the machine another defective machine 2 for 2.
Nespresso machines are great, but not the pixie sorry!

I ordered a refurbished Pixie from Amazon and received it in two days. The machine looked perfect, however when I filled the water tank with water it started to leak before I even plugged it in or turned it on. I called Nespresso directly as their instructions ask to deal with them and not the vendor, and they tried to help me troubleshoot the machine. After a few minutes and no fix, they sent me a return slip for shipping via UPS and asked that I send the machine in for return.

I sent the defective machine and it arrived at Nespresso 2 days later. As soon as they received it, they send a brand new one right away and I received it in 2 days. My new machine works perfectly and makes the delicious Nespresso coffee I've been waiting for.

Nespresso's customer service was impeccable, quick, and I got a new machine and a sample set of pods for my troubles.

I highly recommend this product and the Nespresso brand--they really know what they're doing and their coffee taste great!

This espresso machine is definitely worth the price. Every cup is perfect and it is so easy to use and clean. I would recommend getting the Aeroccino as well to make great lattes and cappuccinos. Love it!

I have had mine for 4 months and use it all the time, no issue at all! Works great and makes the best espresso! I recommend it to everyone and it's my second Swiss Nespresso machine :)

I had a sample of the expresso at a Williams Sonoma. At first I was just interested in a free coffee. Then I tasted what was offered. This coffee was fantastic! I never pictured myself drinking straight expresso but now I really enjoy it and the Pixie gets it right every time. It takes up very little space and your coffee can be ready in less than a minute. I did not get the milk frother/heater, but I will microwave a cup of milk until it's hot and then brew the expresso straight into the cup with just a bit of sugar. It's awesome! I've had friends over and they are asking for more. The coffee selection is pretty good from Nespresso and the shipping is fast. If you like expresso or expresso related drinks this is a great luxury to have at home.

This machine is a joy to have in my kitchen. I bought one for my son, I bought one for work, I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want the hassle of a stove top espresso machine or the expense of a professional espresso maker. Buyer beware: you have to buy your coffee pods from Nespresso, they are expensive, and if you ever stop and run the numbers, you will be astonished at what a tiny cup of coffee runs you. But if convenience and having a range of espresso tastes is important for you, this is your machine. Operation is simple and intuitive, the coffee comes out hot with a layer of crema on the top, cleaning up is easy, there is nothing to complain about. The one I have at work makes 15 - 20 cups a day and does so reliably.
