Amazon.com Product Description

The Net Media SCIR Indoor/Outdoor Weather-resistant IR Illuminator lights up the night for your monochrome (black-and-white) CCD surveillance cameras. The SCIR is adjustable a full 360 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically so you can shed light on any area that needs it. A weather resistant and glass lens cap encloses the IR (InfraRed) LEDs (light emitting diodes) to protect them from the elements. Constructed in a heavy-duty weather-resistant aluminum case, the SCIR easily mounts to ceilings and walls with an included wall mount.

The Net Media SCIR utilizes a 64 solid state 850nm (nanometer) IR emitters to provide light. This unit's emitters have a 100,000 hour MTBF (mean time between failure) life span. The SCIR provides 30-degree spot illumination for a distance of up to 50 feet. Operating on 12-volts DC via an included power supply, this unit's power cable is fed through the housing arm and connects behind the base to keep it out of sight and away from the elements.

Technical Features:

  • Illumination distance: 50 feet
  • Illumination type: 30-degree spot
  • Light source: 64 solid-state 850nm IR emitters
  • Emitter life: 100,000 hours MTBF
  • Dimensions: 5.5 and 4.5 inches in diameter (unit and base)
The Net Media SCE2 deserves serious consideration as one of the easiest and most economical means of discreetly providing exterior light at night for your CCD surveillance cameras. Users should note that not all CCD cameras are IR-light sensitive, so before buying this product to add nighttime-viewing capability to your surveillance camera you should check to make sure it is compatible with IR illumination.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all in one camera, October 29, 2007
This review is from: Net Media SCIR Indoor/Outdoor Weather-resistant IR Illuminator (Electronics)
I think this camera is amazing. The picture is crisp and clean. It also doesn't give off that red glow that other IR cameras I have owed gave off. The housing unit it very solid also. Overall, this is a great camera.

2.0 out of 5 stars Net Media SCIR Indoor/Outdoor Weather-resistant IR Illuminator, January 14, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Net Media SCIR Indoor/Outdoor Weather-resistant IR Illuminator (Electronics)
This IR Illuminator was very weak. My IR sensitive cameras would only be able to see no more than 5 feet with this IR Illuminator. The range of this device was supposed to be 40 ft.
