5.0 out of 5 stars The best book available for NetBeans6
This is the 'help' menu that Sun should have provided. The author offers a broad view of what NetBeans has to offer from basic installation, to detailed java application examples, to de-bugging and version control; much more than I anticipated. 1.0 out of 5 stars A very shallow book
I've bought this book hoping that it'll help me use the "platform", i.e. a set of reusable components that Netbeans itself is built with, to write my own app.

Instead the book is basically a shrunk paper based version of the Netbean's own help.

Absolutely worthless. Definitely returning it.

Being more of an 'example type' person, I'd like to have seen more examples, but to keep the book content balanced I assume the author had to draw the line somewhere. I've tried finding other 'current' (NetBeans version 6 or higher) and there's nothing out there that compares to this book. Well worth an Amazon purchase.

Eagerly anticpated book that was utterly disappointing. I had decided to make Net Beans my IDE of choice, but because of the lack of good documentation (including this book) I am going back to [...]
