Book Description

Like the industrial age before it, the information age has changed our lives in monumental new ways, including how a lot of us are learning about spirituality. Research suggests fifty million people will rely solely on the Internet—indeed the new Roman Road—for their faith-based experiences in 2010. In NetCasters, Craig Von Buseck, director of for the Christian Broadcasting Network, discerningly profiles those who are doing the best job of spreading biblical Christianity online. He encourages the church at large to follow their lead and fish for souls in these same rich waters—from blogs and chat rooms to Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, and beyond.

5.0 out of 5 stars People do their secret thinking on the Internet June 1, 2010
"People do their secret thinking on the Internet," says John Edmiston, quoted in Craig Von Buseck's excellent book, NetCasters. That simple but profound statement opens us to why millions are searching the Web for answers to their spiritual questions. The question for the Church, however, is whether it will embrace Internet evangelism and step up to connect with these searching individuals. And if it does, the second question remains: How?

Craig Von Buseck's NetCasters shows compellingly that God is behind Internet Evangelism in a very real and powerful way - globally! Moreover, NetCasters will acquaint the reader with biblical rationales for doing Internet evangelism, explain the methods, techniques and tools for it, and introduce the networks and key advocates that power it. NetCasters is it: The easy and comprehensive introduction readers have been looking for to quickly bring them up to speed on this rich, multifaceted ministry known as Internet Evangelism. The collected information in NetCasters is so valuable I wish every church and ministry leader could read it - and bring their evangelism efforts into greater fruitfulness in this Digital Era.

5.0 out of 5 stars A much-needed book May 24, 2010
There has been no book giving a general overview like this since Andrew Careaga's books in the early days of the Web. Its well-researched and visionary coverage, interviews and case studies are indispensable to anyone needing to understand the nature of the new media and how to use them effectively to share the good news.

This is a great glimpse into an online world where people often get much more personal much more quickly. If you don't believe "real" relationships and deep spiritual conversations can happen online, read this book. That's the first step for Christians who want to have an effective, respectful presence online.
