When I first got this I thought I had made a mistake, but finally discovered how it operates. I keep it plugged in all the time and I back my files up to it. I do not have a lot of files, so this usually holds up to three backups and when it is full I just delete the two oldest and it is good to go. It is small, but holds a lot. Really like it.
