Swipe your credit card through SmartSwipe for safe online shopping |
Unlike typing in your information, with SmartSwipe your sensitive information is encrypted before it reaches your computer. |
Built-in encryption for the best in security
SmartSwipe uses a patented technology called Dynamic SSL to encrypt your credit card information. Typing your information means it’s vulnerable to many attacks on your personal computer including Malware, Spyware, viruses, Phishing, Man-in-the-middle and Man-in-the-Browser attacks. Because SmartSwipe is outside your computer, hackers cannot access it and SmartSwipe has no memory so even if it was physically stolen your information is still secure.
Real security meets real convenience
Swipe your credit card just like you would in a store. Instead of having to type in credit card number, expiry date etc., you can save time and cut down on mistakes by quickly swiping. When you reach a payment page click on the SmartSwipe icon located in your browser to activate your SmartSwipe reader. Flashing LED lights will let you know it is time to swipe, then watch as the credit card fields are filled with lock symbols telling you they have been secured. When you are ready, you can press the ‘process order’ button to complete your order.
SmartSwipe comes with an extra long USB cable for easy connection and a removable swiping base, perfect for throwing in your laptop bag. |
What’s in the Box

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NetSecure SMSEN01 SmartSwipe Card Reader (Black) (Personal Computers)
I purchased this item because it was recommended by our local TV station. They have a program called "Let Bill buy it and try it". He went to the extreme of using a person to buy items on the internet and then had a computer guy hack in and get the information on her card. Even on secure sites he was able to get all the information on her card. When she used the swipe he was only able to get the minimal information that is unable to be used.

I first heard about "Smart Swipe" on the local news in Denver. Since I do most of my shopping on-line I thought it would be a great device to have. After searching around and comparing prices I purchased the "Smart Swipe" from Amazon.Com. So far, I have only found one web site in which it worked, and that was Radio Shack. On other sites I'm told that it can not read my credit card, that it could be worn out and to get a new card. I use the card in person and it works fine. I will continue to attempt to use it, but at this point I would not recommend it.

I am a technologies consultant and I purchased the SmartSwipe card reader to test before I recommended it to my consumer computer clients. The only issue I had with the product was downloading the software from the manufacturer. After I clicked on the software download link on the product Website, I waited about ten minutes before the download dialog appeared on the screen. I suspect that this was caused by server overload due to the popularity of this product. A note to those interested in this product who have a 64 bit Operating System, there is a 64 bit software download on the NetSecure site, but the software will only work properly using a 32 bit Internet Explorer browser. Since Windows 7 has both 32 bit and 64bit IE8 versions, this was not an issue for me.
The scanner and software have performed seamlessly since I installed them, and I have used it to make numerous purchases. I don't believe that this product makes the purchase process quicker or easier. Some user input is necessary in the process. I've read some comments about this from other reviewers. This product's main strength is its anti-fraud and identity theft protection functionality. And for this reason and its performance, I give it a five star rating.
