I've had to buy several routers over the past year. The Medialink that has rave reviews, as it should, and now this one are the ones you want. I had given up on cheap routers, but decided to try this Netgear. Mine was $19.00 and I thought, why not, what can I lose. I connected it and it worked. Simple as that. The factory settings were perfect. I was dumbfounded and stunned. I was prepared to spend the whole evening and into the morning getting it to work. Outstanding predicted speeds without drops. The laptop on wireless was just as easy. My computer saw it. I clicked the connect icon and presto. Perfection. Top speeds too. That's my experience. I'm writing this because there is so much variability out there with these. Now, I know that price does not predict the likelihood of routers performing as they should. Good luck.

Update 3 months later: I was in the neighborhood and thought there is something I can add. I didn't purposely do a comparison, but since I had the MedialinkMedialink - Wireless N Broadband Router - 150 Mbps - 2.4GHz - 802.11n w/ Internal Antenna new, sitting in a drawer, I decided to put it back into service and give my Netgear baby a rest. To my delight the Netgear Genie software was compatible with it, so I didn't lose all those features I like. I know I sound like I'm raving here, but if you had been through my router heartaches you'd understand. Well, one day, out of nowhere I had internet connection problems with the Medialink. I looked at the Genie and I could tell that the Medialink was cycling full open speed, then back to disconnect with both of my computers.

After going through 3 other routers that had constant problems with dropped connections, it's nice to finally have a reliable router. Decent speeds, easy connections that are not constantly dropped, etc. Hooray! The only catch is that if you have a Vizio branded wireless device, like a TV, Blu-Ray player etc., these two brands do not play well together. Perfect, solid, speedy connection everywhere but to a Vizio device, which refuses to connect. So, be aware of that. This router gives a good solid signal throughout the house, and three brands of laptops as well as desktop and smartphones have solid connections.

Re Netgear WNR2000 N300 Wireless Router - Manufacturer Refurbished. For a refurbished unit, all in all, this is the best $19 I ever spent. I usually drive to Best Buy and pay retail. $50 or $60. I am not a computer geek, so it took about an hour to install the router. This was a replacement for the exact same router, so the software was still on my hard drive. I had to wait for the software to assign a new password. I had to figure out that the temporary user name and password were on the back of the 'new' router, then wait for the assignment of a new password. But I finally figured it all out. If you get this refurbished model, I understand that you can download the software. If I did it, probably anyone can do it. Then I just put the new password into our computers and WiFi cell phone, and we were up and running. BTW, my main computer is an iMac, my wife has a PC laptop, and my cell phone is a Motorola Republic WiFi model, and the router is running them all.

Would have been a nice product at a nice price. But after a few hours that it's on, it (1) stops broadcasting SSID, and (2) no longer accepts wireless connection. Too bad - a lot of time wasted.

I bought this to replace an older Netgear router which had started dropping the signal. It required restarting much too often (but it was also refurbished and three years old, so...).

The WNR2000 N300 works very well. Extremely easy to set up, which took about ten minutes at the most. I almost never restart it. All of my devices connected to it without a problem (several tablets, laptop, desktop).

The Push to Connect feature works very well with devices that support it and makes connecting even simpler.

I will continue to buy refurbished Netgear routers. I am very pleased with what I have used so far.

I bought two of them. The reset button on one of them does not work. I ended up having to return it - which is kind of disappointing as I was going to flash DD-WRT to the routers for wireless connection between two routers. It is imperative that the resit button works so that the "hard reset" (30-30-30) can be performed.

Otherwise, the router is a breeze to hook up (it is to me - I owned a Netgear WGT624 v3 prior to this one). Now it comes with the "Netgear Genie" that you can access the router functions from your iPad, iPhone, Android etc. It also can do air print. Good value for the price.

I am new to routers and was able to get it installed ok. My devices pick up the signal from any distance in my home. Have relatives using this brand name and they like them. Manufacturer Refurbished items seem to do pretty good for most people from what I have read. "Refurbished" can have many meanings and if you are not careful you can select a "refurbished" item that has such a low meaning that it is junk. Manufacturer Refurbished which in this case is Netgear refurbished holds a high level of meaning in my book and is a good way to acquire this model of used router.
