"The only reason I bought this card was for pen-testing my network and the networks of my friends using a "Linux Security Distro" known as "Backtrack." Most wireless cards adhere to proprietary drivers and therefore not too compatible with the Linux OS. This is a "vanilla" USB WiFi card that plays well with Linux and, of course, ALL Windows Versions (32&64-bit). I recommend this card for anyone wanting to sacrifice range for complete compatibility on any Operating System. This card will grant Wireless Capability to any PC, whether it's your Desktop-PC, NetBook, or Laptop because it plugs in via USB. It also doesn't heat up as much as some of the other USB WiFi Cards I have used in the past. My only qualm regarding this particular model is that the Wireless Range isn't super, but it WILL meet nearly everyone's needs. This card delivers and for the price you just cannot go wrong buying this card. The seller is a great guy too and shipped the card in like 3-5 days.

It has done its job, range is not as great as my netbooks (dell half wifi card g). I do not recommend this if you are looking for a consistent connection, or getting wifi from another room, but for short temporary use its perfect.

Also, if you are buying this for home security 'vulnerability testing'*cough*backtrack*cough*, look no further. Just don't expect this to serve as a replacement wifi connection card adapter.

I am a computer technician and I use this every day! If you are having problems connecting to any wireless modem this netgear usb will fix that!

This issue has gone on from date of order until just a few days ago ? I placed several orders at the same time at amazon , well, it's the holiday's pluss my sons B-day was coming up ? Original order date was Nov.1st, I have been busy so I thought I saw a (backorder) on this item, figured it should be here at least by 12/7 in time for my sons B-day ? But on or around Nov. 29th -30th , Nothing ? So I called , the woman I spoke with "Kathleen" was very upset, not that I hadn't recieved my order, but that I gave a negative review on Amazon ? She told me it was mailed USPS and was confirmed delivered ? Well, I don't know about everyone else or everywhere else, but if I don't sign for it or it's not placed in my hand "it's not a confirmed delivery" ? I have had UPS, and USPS leave packages at my door and they have sat there all night into the next day ? So she made me feel as if she were calling me a lier ? The only way I could get my item was to agree to take the negative feedback I wrote off Amazon and replace it with a more positive one? Not only that I had to pay an extra [...] for expedited shipping and a sign for , that was never signed just handed to me ? While I waited for my item to arrive she must have called me 4 or five times asking if I had taken off the neg. feedback ? Then she let the cat out of the bag ? They are charged by Amazon for any negative feedback they recieve ( or so she sais ) ? So this company was all about the money folks, and "Kathleen" sorry I couldn't give you what you wanted, but it's buisneses like yours that give reputable ones a bad name! You should be more concerned wth your customers rather than your "Books"
