Helpful Stuff!, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Neti Wash Plus with Zinc for Sinus and Immune Support, 4 oz (Health and Beauty)
I've used this stuff for over a year now whenever I am having sinus trouble. I really seems soothing to use in the neti pot water, and I seem to get over colds much faster. Also, I like the way this formulation smells much better than I like the one that is formulated without zinc! Once I had to buy the other one b/c I couldn't find the one with zinc.

Contains zinc! Do not use!, June 17, 2009
The FDA just confirmed that zinc-containing nasal sprays, swabs, etc., can cause complete and permanent loss of the sense of smell. Amazon should stop selling this. The Neti Pot is a good product. Plain saline works very well. Save your money and don't buy the starter kit or this stuff.

Neti Wash with Zinc is an EXCELLENT product, December 2, 2009
This review is from: Neti Wash Plus with Zinc for Sinus and Immune Support, 4 oz (Health and Beauty)
Neti Wash with Zinc is an EXCELLENT product. I have been using this product for over one year and will continue using it. I believe this product aids in the loosing and flushing of mucus. Haven't had a cold either, could be luck though.
My sense of smell has not been affected. If anything, because of having cleaner and healthier sinuses, my sense of smell is probably better than before. For those alarmists who see the word zinc and freak out - read the FDA statement! Certain Zicam (only Zicam) products were removed from the market because:
1. The labeling made claims intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease . . .
2. The labeling did not provide warning about the possibility of loss of sense of smell
3. More than 130 reports about loss of smell
The zinc used in the products recalled was zinc gluconate 2x.
The zinc in Neti Wash is zinc acetate, and according to the FDA correct labeling on the bottle, this amount and type of zinc has not had any reported adverse affects. Also consider that this product is diluted in the Neti pot and poured thru the nostrils.
So relax and enjoy the benefits of a great product, and please, take the time to be an informed consumer.
