Frustration, July 19, 2007
I am not a web designer and this product was recommended for those that have not designed web sites before. The end result looks good for the organization I was making a site for. What is the problem? The support just plain sucks. I don't think in all my years I have seen anything like it. You cannot call support but have to email them. This isn't a new concept, but I am have trying to get the same problem resolved for over 2.5 months now (I am sure it is something simple but not address in the instructions). I am just trying to get something to work that the program says it does. You get one response back a day and there are times you get nothing back for a few days from support. Now, if they READ your email they may at least understand the problem and give you something to try. If they just glanced over the email they may answer a question you did not ask. I could go on and on and show you the email trail from them but just let me say there have got to be other programs you can purchase where you are not still working on the same problem for 2.5 months. Yes, if I could I would return this expensive program and get something that at least I could get answers from support in less than the time I have put in on this. But you see what the price of this product is so I will at least wait for the full 3 months on this ONE problem before investing in something else.
If you think you can use the program and not run into any problems, then it may just work for you. But if you think there could be some issue, some question you may have in the use of the product then unless you have a lot of time to get your site up, you may wish to look for a different program.

When Netobject is working., March 23, 2009
Yeah,
when it's working. The program has a mind of it's own and can be unpredictable. I had purchased the 8 version; seeing that is only for 14 bucks on their website, I took advantage of it, I used the 'go to' menu for some navigation alternatives, after uploading it, the menu work and sometimes doesn't work after uploading it again. I read where the 'tables' play a role in how things work. I embedded the 'go to' menu inside of a table and didn't have an issues since. Maybe I just had some good luck I don't know, BUT what bothers me are two things, 'no longer supporting a program that they continue to sell, (not cool at all) and the damn bugs in their software that are consistent from each new software release. How a company like this stay in business is amazing. I just purchased Dreamweaver CS4, it's layout is similar to N.O. 10 and 11, but you have full control and no bugs. I'm going to migrate my recent site that I build in the 10 trial version over to Dreamweaver because I put too much time into the website and Netobject doesn't have the option to purchase version 10, (just the trial version to 10.) forcing you to buy version 11. Pretty sad.
Anywho, buy Dreamweaver, it's now easier to put a website together with that software now. It cost more, but it's worth it.
Edit: I just opened up the program again to modify and add to my project, a window pops up telling me that the DLL is missing and to reinstall the program again. This for version 10. The website is still there, but I'm not risking it and will find a way to import it over to Dreamweaver CS4. Sad, Netobject has the opportunity to be the best or one of the best website builders out there because it's so easy to use but a nightmare when it crashes.
Netobject should takes some lessons from Swishmax, when that company put out a easier way to build Flash websites, they made sure that they did their homework before putting out there and the company has one of the best user friendly support out there.

Not for the "Pro" - you can lose all your work, April 11, 2008
We set the program to keep 4 backups of each site.
One site was wiped out. For some reason the backups were no good and all the styles were gone too.
Now we have to rebuild the entire site by hand.
Trying to get support from the company got us nothing.
Posting on their site got us nothing.
I'd say that this program has way too many bugs and too little support for most of the people that have used it.
It will take a good slap in the face for most to see what we had to learn the hard way.
Run away from this program.... Don't walk. "You'll be sorry"
