5.0 out of 5 stars Best anatomy book that I have used!, March 25, 2008
This review is from: Netter's Clinical Anatomy, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Paperback)
I am a medical student, and found this anatomy book the perfect thing for reference on my clinical rotations. The pictures are wonderful, and it includes "clinical correlations" pages in each section, with pictures specific to certain diseases and explanations of the disease processes/physiology. Honestly, it's much better than any anatomy book I used in undergrad or med school. A must for the med student who needs some brushing up as well as good illustrations!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book but EGREGIOUS formatting problems on some pages!, June 7, 2007
This review is from: Netter's Clinical Anatomy, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Paperback)
A lot of people in my class liked having this book b/c it was like having a portable, pocket-sized Netter's atlas with clinical correlations (seems like a good idea right?)

BUT be warned, there are some CRAZY formatting problems on some of the pages. I've never seen anything like it in a book before. Something weird must have happened to their computer during the editing process, b/c certain words will be cut-off or some pages will be close to gibberish.

If you don't believe me, check out page 85. "nur to disc initiates inflaator process" or "iscoenicpain" are two examples of sentences on this one page.

Thankfully, this doesn't effect the entire book. It's only a few pages out of the ~650 total pages. I think the book is still an excellent resource to have, but I like to know the flaws of things I buy before I buy them. Hopefully the publishers will see this and fix the next edition!

Well worth the money and inexpensive compared to other reference books. It's small and easy to carry but packed full or relevant clinical info and it's anatomical relationship.

A fantastic anatomy reference. Smaller size also makes it very portable. Well illustrated anatomy diagrams coupled with memorable images and explanations of common medical conditions. I would buy again in a heartbeat!

5.0 out of 5 stars USEFUL, January 21, 2010
As a medical student, this book comes very handy. The information is very organized and it certainly helps in placing all the copious amount of information in a very organized way. I would strongly recommend everyone to invest and purchase this book. Finally, the clinical information placed alongside the basics of anatomy are truly helpful and a definite plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best anatomy texts to own!, October 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Netter's is a classic and this particular text is great for the healthcare professional in medicine, nursing, and related areas. This book is especially good to use as a review during clinical rotations. Furthermore, this publication is well organized and the illustrations are superb; what else would you expect from Netter? If you need a compact reference for anatomy, this is a great investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE!, June 12, 2010
This is the best book ever. Illustrations are perfect, The tables come with their own summaries which makes it so much easier to digest the information. A huge plus, it is that the illustrations are right on top of the concept discussed which makes it easy to understand what they talking about! Perfect aid for exam review to be used in conjunction with BRS Gross anatomy and an Atlas for more enhanced details. Frankly a perfect 5 stars for this book...A good value for money!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars More than just Anatomy, March 30, 2011
By
Ellie "Eilean Siar" (North Shore of Boston, USA) - See all my reviews
I like Netter's Clinical Anatomy with some reservations. Firstly, Dr. Netter's illustrations would have much better used in a much larger book format. The small size of them doesn't do them justice or make it as easy as possible to learn from them. But I understand this would reduce its portability and increase the cost of the text.

Secondly, it is impossible to illustrate or even list all the clinical aspects of points of anatomy. Quite impossible. So, while it is instructive to have some along in sidebars occasionally, they serve more to pique your interest in Anatomy than to present any comprehensive presentation of even the commonest medical correlates of anatomical points.

I think the text is well written and doesn't go overboard describing what is obvious from the excellent illustrations. I haven't noticed any typos or bad formatting that another reviewer mentioned (and I looked at the page mentioned).

I intend to get a copy of Netter's Atlas of Anatomy from Amazon to be able to learn better from larger illustrations. Still, I always like to see clinical references in any health care text I study. This is one of the good ones.

This book is real dope. Believe me I scored a 38 on the MCAT, so I know a good study book when I see one. All the stuff you need, none of the stuff you don't. What more do you WANT!
