I have had Netter's copy of Anatomy for decades I believe. It is a beautiful work of art and science. This book is also another contribution using his brilliant work.

It uses the Netter drawings to provided a basis for the structure and then combines this with light microscope and electron microscope slides. The text is all in color and it is of the highest quality.

There is no histopathology in the text and that might have been useful for medical students. The discussions are by the normal sections of cells; blood, bone, muscle and by organ. It is longer than most texts of this type and if you studied histology in the dark ages of poor quality black and white photos this is worth the purchase just to see how things are being taught now.

There are several things I would have like to see such as the use of stains and the preparation of slides but in today's world that has become a technician's task. Yet a great deal can be learned from these techniques.

This is a great text. It is an excellent companion to have when viewing histological slides. The information is well organized. The images are beautiful (with excellent captions) and the paper is extremely nice that the pages are printed on.

Based on your med school's guidelines for histology, this book may or may not be on your required/recommended courselist. My school extensively used this book. Was quite excited to receive it in the mail at a discount price from one of the amazon booksellers. The big size of the book/pictures definitely makes things easier!

This book is comprehensive, informative and an excellent resource for medical school histology. Easy to read and makes histology interesting.
