For nursing students, it beats out Basic Pathology, April 25, 2007
This review is from: Netter's Illustrated Human Pathology, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Paperback)
For medical students, the staple book on pathology is Robbins and Cotran's Pathologic Basis of Disease. They've made a Basic Pathology book in this series for non-med healthcare providers. Basic Pathology is very...um...useless as a teaching tool. Poorly written, condensed to the point where I can't even read it, I might as well have bought the med student version of that book.
Enter Netter's Illustrated Human Pathology--perfect for nursing students who need to learn pathology! Out of all the pathology books I have reviewed, this one has the best blend of imagery (by none other than the venerable Dr. Frank Netter) and text to help allied health students understand system pathology at a histological, morphological and even systemic basis.
Can never go wrong with Netter, I guess!

Netter's Illustrated Human Pathology, November 20, 2010
This review is from: Netter's Illustrated Human Pathology, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Paperback)
This is a good picture atlas supplement for allied health professions. It's not nearly as good for primary pathological learning for medical (or even PA students) as it's not detailed enough. It's OK for a visual supplement and a great book for the reference shelf in an allied health profession's library.
