The 235 individual illustrations taken directly from NETTER'S ATLAS OF HUMAN NEUROSCIENCE emphasize the structures essential for the successful completion of the basic medical neuroscience course. Each card features a single, full-color illustration with its structures annotated with leader lines and "A,B,C" label codes on side one. Side two contains the code legend that identifies the correct label or name associated with each annotation. Explanatory comments about the respective image provide additional clinical insight and perspective. Color codes identify the corresponding sections from the atlas for easy cross-referencing and in-depth review of the material.

Emphasis on structures that are important for a basic Medical Neuroscience course
Color coded to the corresponding sections of the neuroscience atlas for easy
cross-reference
New flash card offering to follow in the footsteps of the very success set of
anatomy flash cards published in 2002.
Clinical "pearls" on the back of each card - these are not in the atlas so the
cards are not just the atlas in another format.

5.0 out of 5 stars What I wanted: diagram labeling exercises, December 20, 2007
This review is from: Netter's Neuroscience Flash Cards, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Cards)
I recently bought 6 different packs of science flash cards. I was disappointed with most of them because they were essentially nothing but English-style questions on one side and answers on the other. I could do that myself, using index cards!

What I was looking for were flash cards with diagrams, where structures are pointed to with numbered arrows and you have to come up with the term that identifies it: with the answers on the back side of the card. That I cannot do myself. And that is what these flash cards are! The images - which are in color - are excellent too, and cover the topic of neuroscience in great detail.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, (if cheaply made) review material, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Netter's Neuroscience Flash Cards, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Cards)
The cards are flimsy and cheap, and the info gets way too detailed at times, but the info on the back of the cards reinforces a number of very important concepts in a very concise manner.

2.0 out of 5 stars Should be called "Neuroanatomy" flash cards, August 26, 2010
This review is from: Netter's Neuroscience Flash Cards, 1e (Netter Basic Science) (Cards)
I didn't find these cards very useful. I had difficulty finding cards that were relevant to what I was studying and when I did they went in too much detail. Very basic Neuroscience information is left out. May be good for someone taking Neuroanatomy or a medical student. I let someone else in Neuroscience borrow the cards to help them study for his oral exam and he didn't find them useful either.

If they were called "Netter's Neuroanatomy Flash Cards", they would deserve a 5-star rating.
