When I gound out that The network was releasing a DVD i was very excited. But when i found out that it was going to be a live concert i was all the more. This is a great DVD and if you are a fan of the Networks full length Money Money 2020 you will love this companion. The network's humor is great it will keep you laughin' and dancin'. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD but with a sad discovery
I ordered this product some time ago from a seller here on Amazon. I am a huge fan Green Day and all of their side projects (But The Network is NOT Green Day!!! Haha inside joke lol) so of course this DVD appealed to me. After I ordered it in the mail I put it in my DVD player and it wouldn't play. I put the disc in my computer and an error message popped up. It informed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 8, 2004
This review is from: The Network - Disease is Punishment (DVD)
This is one of the best music DVD's I've ever seen. The performance is perfect and it's visually stunning. It's not packed with extras, but what's there is more than worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes it's live... and not., February 4, 2005
This review is from: The Network - Disease is Punishment (DVD)
Having been lucky enough to be at the concert at the Key Club contained within the DVD, I can assure everyone that the performances here were indeed live and in front of a packed house. That said, there is non-concert footage interspersed within the show- my guess is 'dress-rehersal' footage shot to add additional angles, etc. to the final DVD. Pretty obvious when you notice 2 different hats on Van Gough during one 3 minute song... but so what? Although it results in the occasional 'lip-sync' look mentioned in an earlier review, his in no way lessens the fun- and I can tell you first-hand that the soundtrack is as heard the night of the show- a sonic blast! Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD but with a sad discovery, January 2, 2012
This review is from: The Network - Disease is Punishment (DVD)
I ordered this product some time ago from a seller here on Amazon. I am a huge fan Green Day and all of their side projects (But The Network is NOT Green Day!!! Haha inside joke lol) so of course this DVD appealed to me. After I ordered it in the mail I put it in my DVD player and it wouldn't play. I put the disc in my computer and an error message popped up. It informed me that this DVD was NOT compatible on DVD players from America, and in order to view the disc I would have to get into my computer settings and change the region code. Luckily, I took several years of computer classes and knew how to do this. After switching the region code, the computer popped up ANOTHER message that let me know I could only change the region code one more time and if i wanted to change it again after that I would have to pay to do so. I watched the DVD which i quite enjoyed aside from the previous events and changed my region code back to US compatible discs. I have only got to watch this DVD one time because of this, and I feel there should have been a warning about this written on the main page under information. The DVD'S case had a very small sentence about region code written in fine print but all it said was "This DVD might not play on all DVD players." After paying eight dollars for this plus shipping I have to say I am a little disappointed with the results.

5.0 out of 5 stars best i have ever seen, May 7, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Network - Disease is Punishment (DVD)
I have always wanted to see the network live and this DVD was so flippin' awesome i almost fell out of my chair while watching it in my room. Peole thought that it was fake but i can assure you that it isn't i mean the backing stuff like the echoes and the vocal sounds that are in the backround are not really made by the band but the actual vocals are 100% real. you can tell. listen to the album and then listen to it live. the voice sounds more realistic.

I'd really like to know what The Network sounds like live. This is nothing more than an exercise in flim-flammery. They (an expanded Green Day) have taken the recorded tracks from the album, and remixed them to a more live, punchy, reverby sound. Of course, with Green Day's years of experience making music videos, the effect is expertly rendered. Don't be fooled, though. Look at how the vocals don't miss a breath when the mic is further away. (Ashlie Simpson much?) Notice how the guitar sounds are completely studio-sounding. Notice how the audience shots are of a very select group of people in the room, and they really look like they're in on the hoax. As much as I love the CD "Money Money 2020", I'm disappointed in this being presented as a live performance. It is not. I give it three stars for the quality of the songs.

SOME of the songs are fine and can all be found on the Network CD, "Money Money 2020" (skip the included DVD sample) however the visuals (if I see one more "Max Headroom" rip off, I am going to puke), including the pathetic costumes sported by an expanded Green Day, are sophomoric in the extreme. Watching these fellas trying to look "dangerous" and "edgy" is just plain embarrassing. It caused a New Wave of revulsion on my part. I guess this is what happens when people have more money than sense or taste. If you want to stay a fan of Green Day, DO NOT EVER watch this sad DVD.
