We have Dish Satellite service in our home (Vancouver WA), with service for 4 tv's. We travel by RV during the spring and summer. Wanting to have satellite TV and our local programing I bought the same same satellite dish that is mounted on our home from Amazon.com. I take one of the two boxes in our home (one box handles 2 tv's in the home) and in conjunction with our new dish unit I can set up the satellite dish, locate the satellite, run the two tv's in the RV each with their own programing ie: watch different channels at the same time. Thus, the only cost to having satellite tv is the initial cost of the dish. The dish is somewhat cumbersome to store while traveling but I live with it. Additional costs are the tripod needed and an inexpensive compass. Additionally, the RV was not set up with satellite wiring so I added two inputs to the outside of the trailer entering next to the inside TV's. The two lengths of wire go from the LNB (the dish) to the outside inputs on the trailer, and viola, I have tv. It might sound complicated but that's only due to the fact writing this is a lot harder than telling what needs to be done. After a year I'm pretty good at setting up and usually have tv in 45min to an hour. My wife points out that I might be taking too many beer breaks and thus slowing my hand eye coordination and that anybody else would have it done in 30 mins.
