Good summary of Cryptography and Network Security., September 21, 1999

This review is from: Network and Internetwork Security: Principles and Practice (Hardcover)
This book explains the issues of Network and Internet security and covers cryptographic principles in general too. Though there is loss of depth in quest of width, it served me well to get a good grounding in the subject. I hope the author focuses on some practical, implemenation issues in the next edition. The topic of firewalls needs better attention and so does IPSec.

The book is poorly written whereby the author fails to provide adequate explanation of each topic. The author fails to provide exercise problems that can be solved from the chapter discussed.
