3.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, But.........., May 30, 2005
This review is from: Network Security Bible (Paperback)
This is a great book; it goes in great detail about security in all aspects of the computer industry. However it lacks one critical aspect, how do I do that? Like all network and computer professionals, I do not know everything, so when you tell me I should do something a certain way I'd hope that you will also tell me how to do it. With this book I found myself saying, maybe they will tell me what to do later, over and over, never happens. If you want to buy a book that's a reference manual, this is the one to get. If you are looking for a "how to" as well as a "what to look for" book, consider looking elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picked it up for Sec+ now, GSEC later, October 13, 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Network Security Bible (Paperback)
This was a decent book on security. I actually picked this book up to provide additional material for the Security+ (which was very easy by the way) and to provide something to help me self study for GSEC in the coming months. I found this book to be very useful for both cert and non cert study. It can be a little dry at times but that is to be expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and indepth, January 12, 2005

Kellie (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Network Security Bible (Paperback)
This is one of the best network security books I have read. It covers a broad area, and the authors have done their research well. Even topics like steganography, which many books fail to address, are covered. Its up to date threat examples are extremely helpful.
