Do you offer services that require CEO's approval? Read me!,

This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
The audience of this book is not the lazy person. This audiobook will make you work very hard for very little, in the beginning. Treat the time spent implementing these 8 techniques as an investment with a compounding return of investment rate of infinity.Let me tell you something, I've read a few other books on personal network building, and this one is by far the best on the subject. This is absolutely not about the concept of MLM (multi-level marketing), which is a topic I choose to avoid. If you would like to buy this book and learn to become a millionaire and think like a wealthy person, this is probably not the best one. I recommend Robert Kiyosaki's books for that purpose. He will in turn recommend The Millionaire Next door, which is how I stumbled upon this book. "Networking With Millionaires" is written for consultants and it is all about working with your top clients and building extremely profitable relationships with previously impossible to reach clients. Spend $0 on advertising and achieve infinite returns on your investment. If you are already a great salesperson, you will still gain a lot of insight to help you breach that elusive barrier of the CXO executive offices. I have never heard this much useful information on a subject that so little is truly written on in such a short period of time. I knew a lot of the information presented herein already, but there was quite a bit of new knowledge and inspiration that gave me a lot of ideas I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. If you are looking for a gift for someone who is a successful self-employed professional, they will be in debt forever to you if you buy them this CD as a gift. This audiobook is highly recommended by me as a representative of its intended target audience.

Great information,

A very interesting slant on giving great customer service. The essential idea in Networking with Millionaires is to provide more than your core product; to go above and beyond the call of duty. Dr Stanley provides a number of examples of this and a number of different approaches to try.True many examples are similar & that almost gained this CD a 4 star review from me... but then I thought of the value of the information, the fact that I will encourage everyone of my staff in every type of business to listen to this and the fact that I have learnt enough to cover the meagre cost of this CD many times over. And, after all repetition is the mother of mastery! It is always great to hear stories of success and inspiration, this CD combines these with approaches that will work in any country and industry - truly global advice. True, it's a little simple in places and the sound bites of various role plays are very cheesy, but overall I cannot give this less than 5 stars - the information is just too valuable. Enjoy it... but most of all, take action with what you learn & USE IT!

Very practical if you have what it takes to use it.,
This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
I found this audio program to be highly practical. I agree that there may be plenty of repetition, however if appreciated, can offer a lot. I wonder how many of the people who complained that this audio was worthless have actually utilized the info on the level of the examples. More than likely none of them have. I can tell you that I have and I can attribute many new ideas to it. I put two highly successful individuals on the phone together(both of which I took on as mentors in the same manner that Stanley shows how to approach them), and in less than 25 minutes, they were discussing doing a joint venture worth a couple million dollars. I've been generously compensated for something that took no more than 45 minutes of work.
As for the comment about being dependent on the benevolence of these decision makers, I have to disagree. Intelligent people will understand how to place themselves in a position where they are invaluable, thus taking away that excuse.

How to Network Your Way to the Top,
By
This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
Networking with Millionaires is the audio version of Stanley's book "Networking with the Affluent." It is not a "word for word" audio book, but rather a partially scripted interview with Stanley where he covers the same points with same stories he uses in the book.
The basic concept is that successful sales professionals build referral business by offering services beyond their core product(s). Stanley offers some new and creative ways of using the principle of "going the extra mile" for building a network of affluent and influential people who have the ability to help you if they are so inclined. Even though there are some helpful specific suggestions of how to connect with your target group(s), what is most important is having a mindset that thinks outside the box. One aspect of the recording that I particularly appreciated was providing specific reference materials that can help you learn more about how to identify concentrations of wealth. For example, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and some directories of trade associations. These references go by very quickly in the recording, so you may need to look at a copy of the book to identify them all. These reference materials are rather obscure, so I doubt I would have ever heard of them had I not listened to/read "Networking with Millionaires." One reviewer made a valid point that it appears that Stanley is suggesting that we completely rely on the benevolence of the decision makers. While it is true that he does not discuss the downside in the book, I think it is important to use some common sense. There is a risk that you won't directly receive any benefit from helping others. You have to be judicious and not go crazy. There are clues you can look for to identify takers rather than givers. There will be times when you do not appear to receive any specific benefit from the help you provide. If you come across an obvious "taker," simply cut your losses as quickly as possible and move on. The benefits of Stanley's approach FAR outweigh this possible downside. Stanley's objective was to outline a workable approach, so I don't fault him for not including information on the downside. His materials are for professional people who should be able fill in that gap on their own.

The other 80% system for networking,

This audio program, in a form of interview, explains how to make business contacts with successful business owners and affluent professionals via the people whom they trust - their advisors. The author here presents "The other 80% system for networking":
1. Think about your own patronage habits. Patronize a CPA, a lawyer, a doctor: suppliers in general, that already have a network that you can benefit from. In other words, pick a CPA and other suppliers that essentially have the clients that you wish to serve. 2. You have to determine right upfront before you sign up for their service that you will join and benefit from their network. Many people have networks, but they do not share them with people. Interview a supplier like you are interviewing for a job for life. Ask these people whether they have a network that you can benefit from. For example, if you would like to have a large number of construction contractors as clients, find a supplier that has large number of construction contractors as clients. In other words, "you will be my CPA if you will refer me to your contracting clients". 3. Be willing and communicate your willingness to reciprocate regarding referrals. 4. Have a long-run view. Be patient. It's give, give, give, before you receive. 5. Spend more time with the members of your influence network than you spend with your colleagues and your competitors. 6. Be willing and be able to recruit business for the members of your influence network. And when you do this, document your referrals via a letter. 7. Keep in contact with important members of the network. Provide then with intelligence concerning prospects, endorse them, do your PR for them, do your homework for them, be their intelligence system. 8. Entertain. 9. Work with several CPAs, help them in terms of revenue enhancement. You will find that CPAs in the USA are the single most important opinion leaders in terms of the patronage habits of successful business owners and affluent professionals. 10. Never make a referral for profit only. Never refer a client or any other network member to those who cannot do the job. To do so would be a breach of integrity and to the foundation stones with which your affluent network is composed of. Deal with people honestly and refer them to the best that you know. As a summary of this audio program, foundation stones to networking with millionaires and their advisors are: 1. Most affluent people are members of one or more affinity groups. 2. Information about the quality and integrity of suppliers, including referrals and endorsements, diffuses much more rapidly among members of the same group. 3. The affluent market segment is growing seven times faster than the household population in the USA. 4. High-performance networkers gain endorsement for reasons that go beyond the basic product or service that they offer. 5. High-caliper networkers focus their efforts. In addition to this audio program, I can recommend the other publications by Thomas Stanley. His style may seem academic, but this is what I like. Robert Kiyosaki reiterates most of the Thomas Stanley's ideas for wide audience, in popular language, but I prefer Thomas Stanley, because he is the source.

8 STRATEGIES TO SUCCESS via networking,
This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
I have read all of Dr. Stanleys books and/or listended to his work on audio, as I did with this one.Networking with millionaires is as the title indicates a book to show you how to penetrate into the market of the affluent and offer them your services. It is not intended to be a continuation of Stanleys poplular The Millionaire Next Door or The Millionaire Mind.Since I am in financial services and also network marketing, I found this book invaluable to attract clients in both businesses.I first became acquanted with Dr. Stanley's work many years ago when I joined toastmasters and started to rub shoulders with the affluent. Somebody suggested Networking With The Affluent and that book helped me immeasureably. I have since added other books/audio programs by Dr. Stanley.Highly recommend Networking with Millionaires.Good program. Highly recommended.

This book was repetitive in its message.,
By "l_sweezer" (Atlantis, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
This book was repetitive in its message that in order to network with millionaires, one has to meet the needs of others first and do so out of a true intent to help. The book gives good examples of how people have done this, but is somewhat biased towards financial professionals and accountants.

Best information on this subject,
This review is from: Networking with Millionnaires (Audio CD)
I'm a Stanley fan.. loved the "next door" books and learned much.
I heard this title through Audible.com.. half the price for the full unabridged interview. I highly recommend audible.com for many other reasons, but this title makes it worth a trial membership. The true measure of lasting value for me is how often I refer to it in coaching conversations. I've listened to it multiple times, and believe it's responsible for a paradigm shift in how I look at networking and selling. If you intend to sell or market to anyone, especaily anyone with enough money or activity to be hard to reach, you MUST get this!

This CD is not an audio book. It's an amateurish series of interviews with Thomas Stanley on how to try and sell things to rich people. This recording seems very uncharacteristic for Stanley because he has written some good books about millionaires and personal finance. By contrast, these recording has a "sleazy salesman" feel and the scripted questions asked by the interviewer are laughable. Stick to Stanley's other books.

Misleading title! It will not teach you how to LEARN to become a millionaire, it will only teach salesmen how to SELL to millionaires. Too long, (4 cds!) too uninteresting!
