This review is from: Neuhaus Plays Chopin: Mazurkas / Barcarolle (Audio CD)
Divine, smooth, caressing. I somehow believe this one of the only two or three interpretationts that would have pleased Frederic Chopin himself. Of course, there once lived a God named Ignacy Paderewski...but there came the far lesser known Polish pianist Witold Matuczynsky (apologies if misspelled). Matucyzynsky playing is perhaps even more Polish in its heart and soul, but Neuhaus somehow getts very close to the source. What a discovery this cd! |
