There are several forms of the inherited condition neurofibromatosis (NF) - Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is the most common form - this book concentrates on NF1. The volume begins with an introductory overview of NF, followed by discussion of the molecular genetics - where there has been important progress in identification of the defective genes. This is followed by chapters on the cell and developmental biology of the tissues involved in NF. There are a number of chapters discussing the various specific clinical manifestations. It should be of interest to neurologists, paediatricians, dermatologists, clinical geneticists and all other physicians who come across neurofibromatosis in the course of their work.
