Laurie Lundy-Ekman's book was the textbook in my recent upper division neuroanatomy course and offered a good base reference for the course. The author mentions neurological problems relevant to the brain area discussed in that chapter, which is helpful for a better understanding. Its a great reference book to keep on the shelf and its smaller size makes it more handy than other larger neurology books.

I'm a PT student and I found this text to be invaluable. Lundy-Ekman does a great job of having that balance of information so that information isn't "dumbed" down but it doesn't get overly technical. This was my primary source in my neuroscience learning. Her "clinical pearls", case examples, and overall focus on the clinical aspects of neuroscience makes this a superb text for a graduate level intro to neuroscience course. This text is specifically geared towards PTs, OTs, and others in the rehabilitation field.

This book is written for OT/PT and it has alot in information crammed in it. It doesn't dumb down the information and I'm a student so sometimes I need to look up things to understand what the text is talking about but it's definitely aimed at professionals.

I used this book as well as Blumenfeld's Neuroscience textbook for PT school. While Blumenfeld offered more detail, this book was great for learning the different tracts. It provides a good overview of neuroscience and includes many relevant and helpful case studies. It has enough detail for the non-neuro PT but if you are interested in being a neuro therapist I would recommend Blumenfeld.

This was my Neuro book in undergrad and then again in PT school and LLE (Laury Lundy-Ekman) was my instructor :-p however this book is geared toward individuals looking for a functional knowledge base in neuroanatomy. This book will allow you to put what is going on physiologically with the clinical presentation. If you are looking to be a PT/OT/DO/Physiatrist/MD this book will greatly augment your clinical abilities.

Easy to follow along and apply to Physical Therapy. Not too in depth on complicated protein transport, but gives a good overview. Chapters are not arduously long while still providing great illustrations and details. Kindle version is easy to navigate.

I found this text poorly organized and difficult to decipher. If you are taking neuroscience for the first time you will need to supplement your knowledge with other sources.
