5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for infants and toddlers!
This was a gift from a friend and our 8 week old would watch it while we were in the car. He has grown up with it and at 18 months it is still one of his favorite toys. The music is pleasant so it doesn't drive you nuts the way other electronic toys can and our toddler has learned to touch it to keep the music going. He has even increased his fine motor skills by turning...

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Deliver
This is one of the most expensive and underwhelming toys we've received. It doesn't play one instrument, then a symphony or whatever it says. It just plays a clip, then another clip (yes I used both modes). It's ridiculous. Also - the off button doesn't actually work - it's supposed to be on the volume button (off - low - high), but instead, in a feat of remarkable...

The music is pleasant so it doesn't drive you nuts the way other electronic toys can and our toddler has learned to touch it to keep the music going. He has even increased his fine motor skills by turning the switches on and off in the back. We just bought three more to give out as gifts to our friends that are having babies. This was a great toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best baby gift, February 14, 2007

I'm a pediatrician and have chosen this as my preferred baby gift for family and friends. The kids love it for a long time. Initially they just look at it and a caretaker can activate it to play music. As the baby develops, they learn to turn it on themselves. The quality of the music is terrific. This is not a tinny music box! I was disappointed when it seemed to disappear from the stores. So I was thrilled to find it on Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars A really excellent music maker, January 31, 2006
This review is from: Neurosmith Sunshine Symphony (Toy)
We purchased this for our son when he was 6 mos. He wasn't into it. He preferred basic plush toys and less "active" toys. Now he's 9 1/2 mos and is absolutley fascinated by this thing.

He's truly mesmerized by the smiling face and listens intently (often while bouncing in time with the tunes) to the crystal clear musical expressions that emanate from within..

The volume control is a big bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sunshine Symphony a lifesaver at times, January 18, 2006

Our daughter loved this even at a few weeks old. Now at 4+ mos., the novelty of it hasn't worn off a bit. Still on original batteries, too. I now hang it onto stroller or swing from linkadoo rings so it hangs out infront of her face while I'm cooking or working on other chores and it keeps her smiling and content. I've even held her on my lap with it hanging on exercise bike's handlebars so I can get some exercise and she loves it!

I think this is one of the best toys out there and worth every penny that the expensive toy stores sell for. I was thrilled when I saw it on Amazon for much less. It plays classical music from several composers and the music doesn't sound like that clanky music box variety. It sounds like it's coming out of my iPod. My 6 month old has figured out that you have to touch the face to get it to play the music. This toy peaks her interest more than the other toys I have purchased for in the past months.

All four of our grandsons have been soothed right from their earliest days by this brightly colored, happy faced sun. We have it hanging in their cribs but it can also be hugged and chewed upon. It's my favorite baby gift to give.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Fabulous, October 23, 2007
This review is from: Neurosmith Sunshine Symphony (Toy)
Neurosmith makes the best toys. My seven month old just loved it. It definitely keeps her entertained for hours. The music is just fabulous and it's educational. The toy also works with motor skills. We also bought the cube for a Christmas present. Thank you Neurosmith.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Deliver, December 5, 2010

This is one of the most expensive and underwhelming toys we've received. It doesn't play one instrument, then a symphony or whatever it says. It just plays a clip, then another clip (yes I used both modes). It's ridiculous. Also - the off button doesn't actually work - it's supposed to be on the volume button (off - low - high), but instead, in a feat of remarkable unmanaged manufacturing, it's on the mode switch -- and it doesn't actually ever turn off. I suppose the only good thing about this toy is the big yellow face and the usual set of squishy/squeaky things to grope.

3.0 out of 5 stars Continuous Music Play Time Is ONE Minute, December 11, 2011

Pros:
- Many textures, colors, and shapes
- Four lights that flash with the music
- Interactive mode where you hit the nose and it plays music for about 10 seconds

Cons:
- The "lullaby" mode is too short - the package says it will play music continuously for only ONE minute
- Amazon's website says it will play music continuously for SIX minutes (which appears to be incorrect)

Unfortunately we needed a toy that would play music for at least six minutes continuously - one minute is too short so we returned it. I uploaded a photo of the back of the package if that helps others that are considering this toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars My 3 months old daughter loves this toy!, December 8, 2011

We received this toy as a gift for our daughter this year.
We have been using it since she is about 2 months old during the tummy time as well as putting on her crib when she is awake and wants to play. Now our daughter is 3 months old and she absolutely LOVES this toy! She just loves to watch the lights go on while music play. Even she is fussy, once the music starts, she has a big smile and keep watching this toy! You can control the volume to low to high, which is nice. Only down side is that I wish music and lights stay on for longer because I have to keep pushing the button to turn on the toy and entertain her.
