4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic while it lasts...
This has been a blast while it's lasted. After about 4 months, only the Lion was working. I, too, had to hide it from my son. While it worked we had a great time singing all the animal songs & acting out the animal behaviors. He still remembers the songs. At 27 months, he found it in the garage and wants to play with it again. He gets frustrated with the non-working...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great toy but doesn't last long
My 11 month old loved this toy! When you press one of the animals, it first says the name of the animal. Press it again and it makes the animal sound. A third press and it plays a really cute song specific to each animal (example: "I'm a gorilla/big, brown, and strong/I thump my hairy chest/while I sing this song").
But, the reason I gave it three stars is that it...

But, the reason I gave it three stars is that it malfunctioned after only 2 1/2 months. It had nothing to do with the batteries. It's the wiring underneath the fabric where you press to hear the sounds. First, the monkey stopped working, then the lion. Now only 3 of 6 animals work. I have to hide it from my baby so she wouldn't cry out of frustration from it not working anymore!
Otherwise, a great toy.

While it worked we had a great time singing all the animal songs & acting out the animal behaviors. He still remembers the songs. At 27 months, he found it in the garage and wants to play with it again. He gets frustrated with the non-working animals, then encourages himself with, "well, the lion works." Monkey see...or Lion in this case. All this written, I'm ordering another one. :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but we're fed up with MONKEY!, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Neurosmith Touch 'N Sing Blocks Wild Animals (Toy)
Cute little songs and animal noises but the monkey seems to override every other animal. We push lion and hear "I'm a monkey!," we push frog and hear, "ooo-ooo-ah-ah!" Occasionally the side we press comes up with correct name/noise/song but then after a bit that dang monkey interrupts again.

We'll probably have a very confused baby if we keep this toy. Too bad as it's a cute toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lasting Fun for Kids, January 23, 2012

I've had this block for 6 years now, and it's held up to hours of rough play from two kids (so far). Believe it or not, the songs are fun and still haven't gotten on my nerves after all these years!

The padded block takes a beating and can be thrown, kicked and carried around the house without any permanent ramifications.

A lot of catchy tunes... Great if you child likes musical toys. I think my husband and I like it as much as the kids.
