Book Description

Smart, attractive, and ambitious, thirty-seven-year-old Dara Harrison is, nonetheless, still single—and on sabbatical from dating. Ironically Los Angeles’ most renowned relationship advice columnist, Dara has become a Southland sensation with her “tell-it-like-it-is” approach to the mating game.

Parlaying her success into a new business, Dara launches a revolutionary dating service geared for the perennially single and romantically challenged. Its no-holds-barred theme soon makes the company a roaring success, even catapulting Dara onto the national talk show scene—until, of course, it all backfires.

With her company under threat and a publicity stunt gone haywire, Dara is forced to join the ranks of her lonely heart clientele, and suddenly realizes that saving the business she cherishes, means facing her lifelong fears—and maybe even falling in love again.

Witty, poignant, and immensely engaging, this romantic comedy from the bestselling author of Wedlocked: A Novel features sparkling dialogue, colorful characters, and a story that pulls you in and never lets you go.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am flabbergasted -- in the best way possible August 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You know that surprise you get when you're really not expecting something to be awesome, but you go ahead and give it a try -- only to discover that it is about a hundred times better than you could have imagined? That's NEUROTICALLY YOURS. It has been a long time since I've encountered a chick lit book that is so well-written that it restores my faith in indie publishing. When I come across a book that is populated with three-dimensional characters, it's like watching the sun break through the clouds after a storm.
Best of all, it was not predictable. What seemed like it would be an easy read turned out to actually come across with characters that I cared about and genuinely liked.
Needless to see, I'm going to be ordering WEDLOCKED right away.
Thanks for a great read, Bonnie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner! May 20, 2012

Just like Wedlocked, I loved this book and read it in one day!
I like a story that isn't too sappy, yet still has the makings of a good love story.
Enjoyed all the characters in this book, and the ending was sweet (but not too sappy)lol.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... Naturally perfect! July 3, 2012
Dara is a natural and so is the delightful author Bonnie Trachtenberg! Dara Lynn's childhood dream was a rose-tinted view of life and love. Fast forward and this is one grown-up relationship advice guru. But whilst Dara can solve other people's love problems, she can't solve her own. Can she find her happy ending? Is there a Mr Right for her? With the help of a feline friend named Mallory, there might be a glimmer of hope ....

A brilliant read - life, work and love collide and it's an awesome explosion that will keep you turning those pages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! May 31, 2012
I read Neurotically Yours in two days - I couldn't wait to see how it ended. Dara is a great character, so realistic. I loved the romance between her and Nick. Nick is both a hunk and a sensitive guy, a well rounded hero. Highly recommend it - great beach reading!

I do love a nice romantic comedy and Neurotically Yours is that and so much more. I was a fan of Bonnie's after reading Wedlocked so I'm pleased to say I love her even more after reading this one. Neurotically Yours has humor, romance, snark, and intrigue. It's about finding and believing in love, but it's also about a strong, determined female who follows her dreams of starting a lucrative and in-demand business, and all the troubles that go along with that.

Dara was a very funny and witty character that I could easily relate to and loved from the very beginning. When she began her career as an advice columnist, she was very blunt and real, which I've always loved in a female lead. Maybe because it reminds me a litte of myself, who knows?! She was also very quirky and had a ridiculous, yet hilarious obsession with her pet cat. Nick was an intriguing male lead, although his part wasn't as big as you would've thought. The book focuses more on Dara and her path to self-discovery, with a bit of love and romance mixed in, so his part wasn't a big player in the grand scheme of things. I probably would've liked to see more of him and their relationship, but it developed enough that I really cared for them and their relationship.

The pace overall flowed very nicely and I breezed right through most of it. It was very light and fun and there was never a dull moment. I especially loved the secondary characters like Reggie and Jesse. They both added wonders to the story and always made me laugh. I also liked the idea of her dating service and even though the flaws were evident, seeing her handle it all was very entertaining and the slew of clients she came across was great.

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to those who want a light and fun read. It's got a little bit of everything and Bonnie's writing is superb as always so you won't be disappointed in this one at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! August 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Neurotically Yours was my first Bonnie Trachtenberg book, and now I am a fan for life! I chose this book as my beach read--a selection I covet--and was not disappointed! I actually found myself unable to put it down and sneaking around the beach house with my Kindle so my husband wouldn't yell at me, lol. If you are looking for a sweet romance with a side of funny, this book is for you. I NEVER laugh out loud while I read, but this book did it--the scene where they are in the deposition and the main character's gay friend/business partner starts reciting Martin Luther Kind Jr.'s freedom speech, while the leading man/love interest starts unbuttoning his pants. (You'll just have to read it for yourself!) In one word, this book was, simply, Fabulous!
