Neuton 24v battery replacement,

It seems that Amazon won't be selling this item anymore. The 2 batteries that are inside the case can possibly be found on Amazon (*see below for more on this) or I think that you can buy this battery on the Neuton website for around $100.
A $100 for this battery...ouch! A cheaper solution: Replace the two 12volt-10Amp/hour "slim" SLA batteries inside the battery pack yourself and DIY is very easy. After a little research on Google I found a company, BATTERYJACK that had the batteries. (*see note below as I did find a battery on Amazon that MAY work) From BatteryJack: SLA, 12V 10Ah Slim PowerStar Battery (2)@$17.90 = $ 35.80 Shipping $ 7.45 Total $ 43.25 That's correct, $43.25 delivered to my door. Note: batteries that worked for me are the 12v 10ah "slim" batteries and may have slightly different dimensions than 12v 10ah batteries (i.e. not slim) To find the correct batteries to replace the Neuton 24v Google "batteryjack 12v 10ah slim" Even though the PowerStar batteries cost less, they have performed better than the OEM ones ever did. And NO I am not a shill for powerstar or batteryjack, they make a good product. It really irks me that Neuton charges over $100 for batteries that can be replaced for about half of that. Heck, I paid less than that for my new mower through the SCAQMD's mower exchange program. For more info about PowerStar batteries Google "powerstarsla" To sum up my "review", Neutons batteries are overprice + quality replacements are available for less. Hope this helps *A more recent Amazon search I found a 12v 10ah battery that MAY work: [...] -2 of these batteries shipped 2 batteries $43.90 S&H $11.19 Est.Tax $0.00<No tax when shipped to Calif. Kudos to Amazon! Total $55.09 So~$12 more than from batteryjack but definitely less than Neuton's website. **The batteries here on Amazon show the dimensions being slightly different than the batteries that fit in my Neuton 24v battery pack. I think they'll fit but YMMV.

Far as we can tell, the battery is OK, though VERY pricey. It turns out to be the wrong one for our old Neuton mower, but that was the fault of Neuton's catalog. We dismembered this one to install it in our old Neuton, and it seems to be working well. A new one to fit our mower was half-again as much. Neuton doesn't offer much help to people with older, but still-working models.

Battery for Neutron Mower
I was happy with the lawnmower. The battery went dead so I needed to replace it. I found it impossible to buy a battery so I ordered one from Amazon. I was told that it couldn't be returned but since I have had no problems with Amazon, I decided to order it. It came neatly packaged on it's side. I don't know if this matters or not. I tried many times to charge it. I changed outlets which didn't seem to matter. It would not charge. I will never buy from Neuton again. Is this their way of getting rid of their junk.
