R()#%&_@#%&_@#$ What a pain in the touchus. A colleague (an avid audio expert with years of soldering experience) and myself struggled for close to an hour to try and put the silly plug together. Firstly, the plastic holding the prongs MELTED while solderiing the mic wires to the lugs on the back of the prongs, THEN, we discovered that there is no collar to hold the plastic assembly with the prongs apart from the metal housing it goes into. Every which way we tried, we could not get the prongs properly seated so that the assembled plug would go into my recorder far enough in order to lock. There may be a way of assembling this thing, but it is for those who "know the secret", not for people with any sense of logic, not even for an audio expert (who does not know "the secret").Buy at your own risk!!!

Neutrik just makes great products. This is their basic, inexpensive XLR connector, and I'm still impressed with it. I had no problem replacing some bad XLR connectors with these. They put together well, and I really like the triple alligator style strain relief.

I ordered these connectors for the price vs the quality. I have been a sound engineer for many years now and have always preferred the Neuytrix to anything else because of the qulaity and ease of installing unto a new or existing cable or snake.The price is fair and when compared to purchasing a local electronics supplier, the price is very good.
