5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!
My family loves this sunblock. We are stationed in Okinawa, Japan and it is hot and sunny 90% of the time here. We use this on our faces and it works great. It does not run into your eyes (as other sunblocks do) and we do a lot of sweating and swimming here. We do re-apply it after swimming as directed. We have not had a problem with coverage but I apply it on thick...

Okay, it SOUNDED like a good idea....small, compact, travel-size, citrus fragrance. BUT IT FEELS SO GROSS when you put it on!! I don't believe it ever "dries". Plus, if you use it a lot, the "bar" is difficult to keep clean and catches dirt, lint, and god-knows what else. I have oily and problematic skin, and so I though "oil-free" meant I could put it on my face. WRONG...

We have not had a problem with coverage but I apply it on thick. I am happy to report that my kids have not had a sunburn on their faces. I recommend this to everyone I know and those who have tried it have been happy with it too. A friend of mine has very sensitive skin and she said this is the only sunblock she has been able to use that didn't irritate her face.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take this one with you under the sun!!, July 13, 2004

Unlike other sunblock stick, this one is transparent and non-sun-lotion smell! Great for using on face, and I only use this one on face! My kids love when I apply it to them. The smell is so nice, unlike the lotion one. My only concern, if any, is it won't show any color, so I tent to apply more than one layer on my kid's face. But I think it's ok! Whole family love it!! Easy to carry in purse or pocket.

This is the WORST stuff to put on your face, it made me breakout and it took several days to clear it up. After that, I decided I'd just use it on my legs/arms, but it felt so greasy and disgusting I ended up just throwing it away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the troop!, April 9, 2008

This review is from: Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil-Free Sunblock Stick, SPF 30, 0.47 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
This product is great for the soldier. I have used it in "fun and exciting" places all over the globe.

First of all it is great as the product comes in a small convenient hard plastic case that will not "pop" and get all over the gear in your pack. The lid/top stays on very secure.

Second it is nice that you don't have to put it on your hands..simply pull it out of a pouch, pocket or side pocket and you can put it on the areas that get hit by the sun...under your eyes, neck, ears, etc. You don't have to have greasy hands. Most of us have our sleeves down so it is nice to have a little touch up on the few areas that are getting burned to death all day long.

To sum it up, it comes in a small container but it does last a long time. I usually keep this behind my compass and it lasted the summer back in 06. I am not a big sunscreen user but when I felt that it was going to be needed it was always very convenient. That is really the bottom line on this...it is small, reliable and there when you need it...not a bulky item that you are going to leave behind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, June 7, 2007
This review is from: Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil-Free Sunblock Stick, SPF 30, 0.47 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
My family and I have used this for years. I have acne prone / oily skin and it has never promoted breakouts. You can trust Neutrogena for that. It does go on a little greasy (the reason for just 4 stars), but if you are working outside or on the boat it's the best. It does not run into your eyes and the wide applicator stick covers much better than the chapstick style applicators available from other brands. This is hard to find in stores. I'm thrilled to find it through Amazon.

I have skin cancer so complete coverage is important to me. I really like Neutrogena's other suncreen lotions (especially the oil free 45) but this product has shortcomings. It does not go on evenly and is clumpy. One time when I thought I had put it on evenly I was burned in stripes! I don't reccomend this product for those that need complete sunblock.
