5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my Life
I'm serious. Mostly. In the months before I discovered this amazing product, my hands were so chapped, dry, and sore that they the skin was breaking open and bleeding. I was in so much pain, constantly. I couldn't even make a fist, I wanted to cry. Other lotions couldn't even touch the dryness, and they would just sit on top of my skin and eventually wash off without...

2.0 out of 5 stars Vaseline...
I used it on my hands after being outdoors in cold weather mountain biking. It is much less greasy than Vaseline but waste of money. I found that Vaseline offered me the same for much less $$$. I had been looking for a lotion (which is liquid) not a cream (which is solid) for external use, for hands during winter, face after shaving, feet for white dry skin, and for the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my Life, November 22, 2010
I'm serious. Mostly. In the months before I discovered this amazing product, my hands were so chapped, dry, and sore that they the skin was breaking open and bleeding. I was in so much pain, constantly. I couldn't even make a fist, I wanted to cry. Well, anyhow, a friend recommended this to me because she worked in a veterinarian's office, and the vets swore by this. So I picked some up at the store--I was a little disappointed that the tube was so small. Then, in the car, I put some on, a pretty generous amount. Oh man. I could feel it just seeping into my skin. It was like my skin was just drinking in the moisture. I could bend my knuckles! Without pain or bleeding!
Without this amazing hand cream, I probably would have got an infection or bled to death. So it pretty much saved my life.
Oh, and don't let the small size fool you. It lasts a long time. I use it regularly--you just don't need much. I go through a 2 oz tube a year. I made my husband promise me that every Christmas for the rest of my life I'll get a new tube in my stocking, because we're exciting like that in our family.

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff healed my severely chapped skin...., January 17, 2008

This review is from: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Fragrance-Free (2 Ounce) (Health and Beauty)
I was always a hardcore science buff during my early teenage years. I can't remember exactly when it happened but I believe it may have been sometime during Junior High when I developed a severe and chronic contact reaction on my left palm. Perhaps it was a chemical that I accidentally touched? In any event, the skin on my palm started to chap and dry so badly it would crack every time I opened my hand. I developed layers upon layers of dead skin. Winter was probably the most painful for me. The slightest movement would trigger bloody fissures stretching from the base of my finger to the middle of my palm. The ointments and creams and vasoline I used only offered temporary relief. For the most part, they were much too oily to leave on during the day. I endured this condition well into my late 20's. One day, while I was browsing through the shelves of my pharmacy, I discovered Neutrogena Hand Cream and decided to give it whirl. I could feel the difference from the first application. True to its description, a small dab did indeed relieve my skin. However, my condition was way too severe for a simple dab and I decided to use a large enough amount to cover the affected area and fill the cracks in my palm. After just one night, the suppleness miraculously returned to the afflicted area. I was able to open my hands without that dry, taut feeling. Cracks no longer bled or appeared. Within the first week of religious use, the skin was close to 80% back to normal. Today my skin condition is truly and completely gone. I owe a debt of gratitude to the folks at Neutrogena for restoring usefulness to my hand.

4.0 out of 5 stars very intense lotion, December 20, 2008
this is very heavy-duty lotion, and it's great for winter time when you need extra protection from the elements. I give it 4 stars because it is almost more of a barrier cream than a lotion, and so it feels like it leaves a coating on your skin, like it doesn't totally soak in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very very effective, December 29, 2003
This review is from: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Fragrance-Free (2 Ounce) (Health and Beauty)
The formula of this bland, creamy translucent gel is strong enough for men who do work outside. Many guys I know recommend this as the ONLY cream they will use. Fragrance free is nice for men--they tend not to want to smell too girly. If you work outside, scrub up from grease on your hands, do work in the cold (shoveling, snowblowing) or do outdoor sports in winter, this is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth The Price, April 22, 2009
Awesome lotion for anyone suffering from dry skin. It works especially well for dry cracked heels and feet. If you're having problems with cracked heels just apply a thick layer before bed and don't forget to put on some socks, otherwise you'll get the sheets all messy.
The reason that the neutrogena takes so long to dry on your skin is because of the high percentage of glycerin in it. But that's also what makes it so good for your skin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product!, February 22, 2009

My mom started using this product and has been "addicted" to it ever since. She uses it when her hands are dry any time of the year. I was a little skeptical of this "miracle cure" (as said by my mom), but when I tried it out I must say that I was pretty impressed. My dry skin went from being rough and ,well, dry to smooth and moist (but not too moist . .just enough to feel nice). The only problem I had with this hand cream was that it was very thick and it made my hands very sticky/slippery for quite some time . .a longer time than most lotions/hand creams. . .But, after it dried out some, everything was cool . ..

5.0 out of 5 stars "Just A Dab" results in Hand HEAVEN!, November 25, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Fragrance-Free (2 Ounce) (Health and Beauty)
This is hands down THE best product for dry hands! As it says on the front of the tube, "just a dab" rubbed into the back of each hand and, poof, scales, cracks, dryness, and pain are GONE. The effects last for several washings. It's amazing. One tube lasts a long time because you use only a dab at a time. Don't over-apply! Suggestion: draw a short, thin line of product across the back of one hand and use one finger of the other hand to massage it in from wrist to fingertips; after the gel turns white and then disappears into your skin, repeat on the opposite hand; then rub your hands together to get any remaining gel onto the inside of your hands. Apply sparingly. Don't use it like ordinary hand lotions/creams - it's not like those products; it's a one-of-a-kind product. Applied correctly, it will leave your hands smooth and soft without feeling wet or greasy. It's fragrance-free, so there's no obnoxious perfume smell. Enjoy!

I really like the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. My hands are extremely dry during the winter and I've never found a cream that can keep my hands so soft. Ever since the first time I used it, I've noticed a difference. I'd recommend this cream to anyone who has dry hands.

2.0 out of 5 stars Vaseline..., December 17, 2011
I used it on my hands after being outdoors in cold weather mountain biking. It is much less greasy than Vaseline but waste of money. I found that Vaseline offered me the same for much less $$$. I had been looking for a lotion (which is liquid) not a cream (which is solid) for external use, for hands during winter, face after shaving, feet for white dry skin, and for the entire body after mountain biking and surfing in burning sun for years. After shaving regardless wherever on your body, you are not suppose to use cream since it is solid and blocks the skin from breathing. You are suppose to use a lotion. Almond oil and Castor oil are the best for my entire body since both are easily absorbed and won't clog pores. Both products are considered food grade which means you can cook with it just like olive oil but the difference is that you can use these without even knowing that you have applied any on your skin since it is virtually odourless. Any oil from any nut or whole grain like brown rice will go rancid in less than six months so purchasing huge amount of nut oil will have no nutritional value shortly after production so I refill my small container mixing castor+almond which I keep in my bathroom drawer next to my shaving blade which is dark, away from any light and the rest wrapped in a black plastic bag in the freezer. Just like olive oil, it should never be exposed to any light. The mix is excellent for removal of black spots on skin, burned skin, massage, headache and much more and that is why I mix almond+castor.

I really like this product. With two little kids I seem to be washing my hands all the time. My hands had been so dried out, but after using this product I could definitely see an improvement in the way my hands looked and felt. It's also nice that you really don't have to use too much -- just a little pea size.
