This has the same cleaning power as regular Neutrogena but with a much better smell. I noticed with the orange version that my skin had a medical smell to it. This grapefruit scent is more than acceptable and leaves my skin feeling clean and tight. It does a good job of removing make-up. The 2% salicylic acid is the same strength and cleans as well as Murad, but for far less cost. The other Murad substitute that NEutrogena has is the Rapid Clear 3-in-1 Acne Treatment, which is equivalent to Murad's 2% salicylic acid gel (but again at a much lower cost.) These two products used at night, combined with an SPF 30 moisturizer in the day, make my skin very clear. You have to just continue it even as the gel "boils" the acne to the surface at first. Once the skin is clear, if you continue to use these, then your skin will stay clear. Much less expensive than MURAD!

I bought this product for my wife because she always complains about how her skin looks. No matter how wonderful or beautiful I tell her she is, she's always conscious of her face because she gets occassional acne. It's been 7 months and I'm hearing much less griping from her. I notice her face is smoother, and the stuff smells really nice as well. She says it's a huge difference. I don't think she ever a problem in the first place but she's convinced she did and she's much happier since beginning to use this, so who am I to argue?

I do know just from experience using cleansers can dry out your skin so be aware of how much/how often you use it when you try it. It doesn't eliminate acne that's surfaced any faster. My wife uses a small drop of tea tree oil mixed with some water as a blemish eliminator- 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil + FREE Tea Tree Oil Soap Bars. It doesn't change the cleansing effects of the Neutrogena and it seems like it only takes a few days for the marks to disappear when she uses that oil as well. As long as she's happy, I'm happy. Guys- if your girlfriend or wife is looking for face treatment, give both a try.

With my greasy face, the original gold colored acne wash cut through the sludge with a single pump of soap. This new version requires 2 pumps, but smells 100x better. I think the better smell is worth the extra soap.
