I used to use Paul Mitchell's Chill Shave Cream until it was discontinued. Although it was expensive, it was the only product that was mild enough on my dry-and-itchy-prone sensitive skin. When I was forced to buy a new product, I decided to give this a try. I have been completely satisfied. I wish I would have found this sooner, because it is nearly as good as the Chill Shave Cream, but much less expensive.

Unlike some gels, it does not dispense too rapidly. It has a smooth white texture, and is easily applied. It also provides great lubrication for the razor, and does not dry the skin. The only watch out is that if it is left applied too long, it does start to give you face a tingling. This is not noticeable, though, if the gel is applied and you shave right away.

This is the best shaving gel I have ever used. It goes on smooth, but does not feel greasy or oily. It feels as if it forms a barrier between your skin and the razor, but lets the razor give you a close shave. After shaving and rinsing, your skin feels good, there is no razor burn or irritation. I don't get any acne, ingrown hairs, or shaving bumps after sing this product. Highly recommended.

I used this shave gel in conjunction with the Neutrogena Razor Defense Daily Face Scrub. This resulted in one of the smoothest, most comfortable shaves I've ever had.

The shave gel has no scent to irritate the skin, making it ideal for those with sensitive faces. It seems to smooth the face out for shaving, leading to less irritation. Makes for a great, painless shave. I highly recommend using it with the Daily Face Scrub, as that product does most of the dirty work as far as smoothing the face and softening the hair for shaving.

I've used gillete edge for about 25 years. I've changed razor style numerous times of that time and never the gel. I wish I would have tried this stuff sooner. I felt less pull with a worn blade using this than my usual edge. I liked that it didn't come out of the nozzle as fast as Edge as I'm not moving that fast myself at 6 am. Gave it 4 stars because I'm cheap and wish it was the same price as the more common gels. I'll still use it even though it costs more so that says something.

Just as the title says; you will not be disappointed with this product.
More or less odorless, it seems to create a barrier from your face actually getting nicked. And also protects when going against the grain with your razor. Leaves a decently moist face, and a pleasant smoothness.
I would recommend, but it's nothing to write home about.

I have been using shaving oil and brushed-on shaving soaps and creams for a long time because they are usually superior to canned foams. However, I started using Neutrogena Razor Defense Gel this week on my dermatologist's recommendation and I have to say that I'm impressed. My face feels like it's coated in Teflon, and the razor slides very smoothly over it. There's no irritation or burning feeling after the shave.

BTW, this product doesn't create much foam because it's not supposed to. Foam is mostly air and does nothing for you.

This shave gel is probably the one I like least of the few that I've used. Although it's still probably better than using standard shaving cream, I have found that this stuff doesn't foam up very well, and has kind of an odd smell (akin to a Chinese soy milk drink...). I'd recommend instead Nivea Extreme Comfort shave gel, or Gillette Complete Comfort (both excellent).
