I really love this stuff.

I have hormonally-acne-prone, combination skin, and am fair complected. I have some redness in the middle of my face. I generally prefer a light-medium coverage foundation, and use concealer to deal with blemishes.

I have tried many, many foundations, from drug store to department store. Working for a counter (Prescriptives, RIP) gave me the opportunity to try a wide variety. I always find myself coming back to this stuff. Even though my skin can be on the drier side, this foundation does NOT dry me out, provided I prep my skin beforehand with moisturizer (I use jojoba oil). It's pretty thin in texture, which means it's easy to work into the skin, and buffs BEAUTIFULLY when set with a powder. I use my powders to up the coverage when needed, and have used both mineral and regular, with great results. It doesn't break me out, which is a miracle, it's actually one of the few products I'm completely unafraid of. I actually see IMPROVEMENT in my skintone when I use it regularly (probably due to the salicylic acid).

Pros:
Buildable coverage (light-full)
Easy to even out/work
Sets nicely with powder
Stays all day (best if touched up with powder)
Buffs beautifully
Clears complexion
Really gives a glow when buffed

Cons:
No sunblock (I actually prefer this, since I use a separate broad-spectrum sunblock anyway; means less chance of aggravating my skin)

Neutrogena offers a few skincare gems. This is one of them for me.

Clinique recently discontinued the Stay True oil free foundation, which I've used for the past 16 years. I was so disappointed because it is hard to find a good foundation in the first place!
After trying every department store brand, I finally purchased the Neutragena Skin Clearing makeup in classic ivory. This matches my old foundation (Clinique's stay true foundation in Ivory). I am so happy and relieved to have found a replacement!
This foundation is super light and long lasting. It does not look like I am wearing makeup, which is what I loved about Clinique's Stay True.
If you are a Clinique customer and are looking to replace your foundation (discontinued or not), definitely try Neutragena's Skin Clearing makeup.
Glad to have to shell out less money, too. Clinique cost $23 where as Neutragena cost $14, sometimes $11 in other online stores!

I purchased this foundation on a whim and couldn't be happier. It has great light-weight coverage and lasts throughout the day. It wasn't until about 1-2 weeks had passed that I realized I hadn't gotten any new pimples since I started using this product. I was so excited. Finally I've found something that works! I have been using mineral powder foundation for the last few years. I have always had moderate-mild acne on my face no matter what regimen I follow. It's very frustrating to be nearly 30 years old and still dealing with acne on a regular basis. Recently I didn't wear the foundation for 3-4 days in a row and ended up with a few (smaller than usual) zits. The good news is that the foundation does a great job covering them up and seems to help them heal faster. I'm hooked.

I have very acne prone skin and this stuff works wonder. It is the same salycilic acid formula that Proactiv uses. One word of caution, when I was pregnant my Dr. said to not use it as salycilic acid is on the questionable list for use during pregnancy and that since this is left on the skin all day it might have more affect. Of course just my doctor's opinion. Also, I received 2 1 oz bottles in my order.

I have incredibly fair skin, and often have a hard time finding make-up to match. I ordered this in Alabaster and it's PERFECT. It has a yellow undertone. I recently have been battling with hormonal acne, so I ordered this to help hide the unsightly marks on my face. It does a good job. It's not overly heavy, so I use it in conjunction with Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick and bareMinerals Blemish Therapy which works VERY well. I wouldn't say it does anything noticeably to reduce acne, but it definitely doesn't contribute to more of them like my old foundation.

I used SkinClearing liquid foundation for years and continued to break out. This foundation is not what I would call "full coverage" even though it is advertised as such. Most people who suffer from acne usually want a more full coverage foundation.

Like most "skin clearing" or "anti-acne" foundations the primary acne fighting ingredient in it is salicylic acid (.5% concentration in this product) which only helps certain types of acne-so make sure you know which type of acne you suffer from (cystic, bacterial, etc.) This is oil free to an extent, but it does contain aleo leaf extract with can soothe but is an oil of sorts. Another ingredient that I find odd to be in a skin clearing make up with no sun block is retinyl palmate (vitamin A). Skin can become very aggrevated in the sun when using any retinol and this foundation has NO spf-so you must either apply one under the foundation and not get all the effects of the salicylic acid or apply it over the foundation and hope you don't mess it up.

Finally, I don't like the way this foundation sits on skin. I thought the talc in it would give it more of a matte finish, while being liquid would make my skin look like it still has a natural sheen-I was wrong on both. None of the shades really matched my complexion-and I even tried mixing a few different colors. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone with severe acne-but I would recommend to people to use as a night foundation (since there is no spf) who know that salicylic acid will fight their type acne.
