5.0 out of 5 stars The name says it all
I have been using Neutrogena skincare for a couple of years now, and I've used the SPF 45, 55, and 70 sunblock, in addition to this one, on my face. I'm using exfoliating lotions, and have dark, sensitive skin that scars easily, so sunscreen is a must for me. This sunblock goes on much more sheer than the SPF 70 product from this line. It doesn't leave a pasty cast on...

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!
Not only is this product the opposite of sheer (it was incredibly hard to rub in all the white residue), but it gave my wife a horrible rash all over her face. After doing a google search about it, we found that she's not the only person to have this reaction. It seems to be somewhat common.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but can hurt when applied around eyes, July 18, 2006

I really like this sunscreen. The UVA/UVB protection is so important, and most sunscreens only block UVA. The lotion goes on feeling like a regular greasy sunscreen, but it disappears rapidly into the skin and it truly doesn't feel greasy at all once it dries. I am not sure how or why, but I swear it also evens out my skintone. I do recommend applying a light coat of your regular moisturizer around the eyes first, as I find this sunscreen can sting when put on the delicate skin under the eyes. I made the mistake of slathering it on over my eyelids once, and I wouldn't recommend that you do that. I found when I sweated, the sunblock crept into my eyes. Ouch. So just don't apply it over the eyes and you should be fine. Anyway, great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best facial sunscreen I've found, April 13, 2009
By
I have tried a lot of sunscreen, and this is by far the best I have found for my face.

1. It goes on completely dry. You can't feel it AT ALL. I've been able to feel all the other sunscreens I've tried. You don't feel like there's oil on your skin clogging your pores.

2. The smell isn't overwhelming.

3. When you sweat, you don't feel it dripping down your face as with other sunscreens.

4. I wouldn't recommend purposely getting it in your eyes, but with sunscreen, it's sometimes inevitable. Every other sunscreen has made my eyes sting so badly. This still stings, but much less than other sunscreens.

In short, it's the most comfortable sunscreen I've ever tried.

P.S. I tried the same version but in higher SPF. The smell was stronger on the higher SPF's, and they smelled weird and chemical-ish and sometimes gave me a headache. For that reason, I'd stick with SPF 30 rather than go to the higher SPF's. My doctor assured me that past 30, the benefits of higher SPF are very small.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT Sunscreen for Normal to Oily Skin, June 3, 2006

This is the 2nd year that I have used the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 45. I have Normal to Oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I am fair and can burn easily.

I think this product is well worth the money, it is quickly absorbed into the skin and has a dry feel. It does not make your skin look greasy and has never caused me to break out. I apply it in the morning and it pretty much lasts me a good 8 hours. The time will vary depending on your sun tolerance, though. It is also conveniently sized to toss in your bag and lasts quite awhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down best sunblock on the market, February 1, 2007
My education I'm a biochemist and I was also a physiology teaching fellow in a university. As such, I have a fair amount of knowledge about chemistry, the body, etc. When my dermatologist recommended this sunscreen, he cited some studies about how SPF15-30 in practice washes off or wears off and doesn't offer adequate protection. He recommended at least SPF 50 and specifically this product.

My experience using this sunscreen is that you don't even know you have it on. It doesn't have a detectable smell and it is very sheer. However, this sunscreen stays on, is waterproof and doesn't block your pores. It guards against BOTH UvA and UvB and the Helioplex technology is a hit with dermatologists. I highly recommend this product and think it's totally worth the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars high SPF, light feeling, non-oily, November 13, 2009
This review is from: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 100, 3 Ounce (Misc.)
I use this SPF 100 every day. I have really oily skin and this formula is great for my skin type (I am also dark skintone). It's such a great formula, that I replaced my morning skin regimen's (boscia) moisturizer with the Neutrogena SPF 100--I can walk outside without wearing any foundation. An added bonus, though, for using this product is that it is also an awesome primer base to apply foundation over if you wanted to wear foundation.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, light-weight protection!, July 7, 2006
I am currently using Tazorac, a retinoid, which casuses hyper-photosensitivity. My dermatologist gave me a sample of the SPF 55 Ultra Sheer and it has been fantastic! Usually, it seems the higher the SPF, the thicker the lotion (and the more likely it is to leave a white film on your skin). Not this one! It aborbs cleanly and you don't even feel it! My healing blemishes faded and didn't brown or darken and best of all this sunscreen does not cause break outs on my super-sensitive skin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Neutrogena Strikes Again, August 8, 2010
I like Neutrogena in general. I find that their products (for the most part) are pretty easy on my skin and won't break it out.

Now, I'm quite fair-skinned, and I want to keep it that way. I burn easily, even in the winter, if it's a clear sunny day. Because of some of the stuff I put on my skin regularly, it is an absolute requirement that I have a good sunscreen on hand to use every single day, or else it'll pretty much negate all my efforts to make my skin look better.

So on my search for a good sunscreen, a friend's mom showed me this stuff. I'd been eager to try it out for myself, because I'd heard it works really well and I hate greasiness of regular 'ol sunscren.

It certainly doesn't make my skin greasy, but it leaves a bit of shine, like most sunscreens do. When I put it on, I barely know it's there, which is a huge plus! I just get a generous amount and cover any area that'll be exposed to the sun before I start the day.

The only drawback to this stuff is that it has a sunscreen-ish smell that I'm not particularly fond of, it's not a reeking, knock-you-out dear god what is that kind of smell, but it is strong enough to where you'll know it's on, and anyone close to you might catch a whiff, too. I'm not going to lie, when I first sniffed it, I was really really hesitant to slather it on...I usually have to spray on some body spray to cover it up, or else people will wonder why my skin smells so weird. After a while, though, maybe half an hour, I notice the smell kind of diminishes, but it's still there if you waft hard enough.

All in all, I like this sunscreen. As an avid sunscreen fanatic (for good reasons, of course!) who wears SPF 45 all year round, even in the wintertime, this is honestly one of my favorite products I've found. It's not too expensive, I got it on sale for about $7, and if you use it every day, it should probably last you a few weeks (provided you're putting enough on!)The only drawback is the smell, while it's not bad, it's noticeable, but I think it's still a great sunscreen that's worth a shot if you're looking for something that won't make your skin feel like a slip-n-slide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Coverage, Doesn't Run Into Your Eyes!, October 6, 2008

I never thought there would be a better sunblock than Coppertone Sport, but lo and behold, Neutrogena Dry Touch is better. I even did a right-side/left-side comparison between the two, and the Neutrogena provided better sun protection. It goes on without any greasy feel, and it doesn't run into your eyes. Best. Sunblock. Ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars good stuff for more serious protection, September 14, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've tried the spf 45, 60, 75, and 85 versions of this stuff and have settled on using this (spf 85). It is a bit more noticeable on the skin, but also protects better than the others when in direct sun all day. I definitely recommend trying it out.
