Wow! In this new book, the authors located 44 of Nevada's scenic routes, wrote about them and included nice color topo maps, step-by-step route directions, and GPS coordinates to keep you from getting lost. The book is loaded with something like 400 photographs. Gives great destination ideas so you can figure out where you want to go to explore Nevada's backcountry. You can discover where to find abandoned mines and old ghost towns and then you get historical descriptions and old-time photos to help understand what you are seeing! As the cover suggests, this book gives you drives in the vicinities of Las Vegas, Pahrump, Laughlin, Tonopah, Beatty, Goldfield, and more. I also own Nevada Trails Western Region and they BOTH rock! Both thumbs up :-)

FUN!! There are so many things to see in southern Nevada that I had no idea existed. I am very pleased with content, trails, and photos. Only regret, on the book's home website (I think its 4wdbooks.com but dont quote me) they have the book sprial bound. I hope one day Amazon.com will offer all the 4wd books in spiral binding, much easier to read while on the road.

Just back from one of the trails in this book and found that the end of the trail as you describe it is very confusing. Additionally, one of the mines you have photographs taken of from the inside has been blown shut at some point since your photo was taken from the inside of the Mountaintop Mine. I have used many of your books and find them accurate to a point. I recently did the Hawthorne to Bodie trail and found some inaccuracies in the trail guide between Aurora and Bodie, as well as some changes in the trail at Fletcher. I do realize tha this is out of your control, but people should use your books as a guide ONLY, not as a direct map or reference when on the trail. Always follow your GPS coordinates and stay safe.
