About the Author

About the Author A Wyoming native Carol L Erickson was raised with a knowledge and love for the lifestyle of the rancher. Horses played a large part in the foundational years of her life. Her first half dozen years were spent at the Erickson and Sweeney family ranches in Sweetwater County Wyoming. She had her first horse at the age of four which was picked out from the Sweeney ranch mustang and Morgan bred horses. She hand raised him on the bottle with the help of her grandmother Bella (Isabella) Erickson. Later years of childhood were spent in the panhandle of Idaho where her mother was from; attending school there and summers going to Wyoming to the ranch at Mud Springs where she did most of the usual things necessary on a ranch in that time period; everything from riding long days to branding. She has three children Dan, Laura, and Stefan and eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.. The years from 1988 until 2005 were lived in Elko, Nevada where she was able to study oil painting and pursue a deep interest in photography. Being back in cowboy, pardon the mistake, being in “Buckaroo” country brought back the taste for ranch life and she began looking for ways to tell others about that lifestyle. This led to looking for cowboy lifestyle subjects and inevitably to the Damele horses. It was curiosity that led to having to know more about them and the result is this, her first serious writing attempt

If your expecting a coffee table book with great photography and insightful content you probably should not buy this book. What you got is a poorly structured book 54 pages long, 8.5 inches square in size perfect bound. The small uncommon type reads poorly . It seems like it was written like a rambling diary with typos and poor punctuation .You will be hard pressed to find a paragraph in the whole book. Just one line after an other of poorly aligned text.

The photos are for the most low rez. I suspect this is perhaps a print on demand book . For the price and the info collected you would be better off to hit the Internet and read stuff off your computer. As a strong supporter of small press I believe that for 20.00 you should get at least more care if not more value.
