About the Author
Dr. Fiero, former Professor Geology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is a graduate of Dartmouth College and completed his graduate studies at the University of Wyoming and the University of Wisconsin. He is highly respected for his geological research and for his teaching activities, which include an extensive commitment to the education of non-scientists interested in learning more about the natural world.

If you visit Las Vegas, a trip to the Valley of Fire is a must! I bought this book because I wanted a reminder of how beautiful this area is and because my photos didn't do it justice. The photos in this book are beautiful and the history and background provided about the Valley makes me wish I'd had the book with me when I was there.
