5.0 out of 5 stars Great boot, excellent price!
Excellent boot! Very comfortable with decent water drainage. The sole material could have a bit more grip but the overall cleat traction is excellent, especially for the price. Very quick shipping from Amazon! Thank You!

I usually buy Columbia brand hiking shoes/boots for light hiking & frequent casual wear because they are affordable and last. Recently I picked up these Nevados (brown) on a whim due to the price & style. These are a generally understated looking shoe that are suitable on the trail & off. They look rugged but don't scream "look at me I have on outdoor gear!" when I wear them casually. I wear an 11 and have a slightly wide foot and the Nevados in a regular 11 fit appropriate to my size. These are comfortable & didn't present any discomfort even during the break-in period. I haven't worn Nevados before & can't comment too much on the longevity of these shoes, but the seams where the leather upper & rubber soles meet are solid without any of the gaps that sometimes betray lesser quality shoes in this price range, the materials & construction look sturdy, and they provide good traction with well-designed treads. All in all I'm very satisfied - nice looking, comfortable, and worth the price.
***5-2011 Update***
I bumped my rating down from 4 stars to 3 on these after owning them for awhile. They've proven to be very comfortable and have held together well, but the outsoles wore down quicker on these than on other hiking shoes I've owned. They're made with a softer rubber outsole than some of the competition, and though I can still wear these, the soles are a good bit thinner now than on pretty much any hikers I've owned. For the price I'd still buy them again, but the soles have kind of proven that you get what you pay for. Too bad they aren't made with a more durable rubber outsole, they would be a five star product if they were.

I generally dont wear boots as i prefer sneakers. But i bought these a while ago for hiking and they have served greatly. The look is great and it is alot more comfortable than i expected. i had never heard of the Nevados brand but it hasnt disappointed. The durability is great. The laces were alittle long but its not a huge deal.
